Oh the lockout started in september didn't it? Playoffs end in June...GILIS HAD 2 MONTHS to trade him. - Allstarzz
It's just not a simple process, and not something you rush. Perhaps waiting for more leverage.
I hope that makes sense? No need to get aggressive, surely you can understand that stance. |

We've done that twice this season. Grabbing a lead and taking the foot off the pedal. - systemtool They are really playing with fire, blowing winnable games at the start. We had an advantage, with most of our players, either in Europe or in the AHL. Once the big boys get back into game shape, we'll fade. If we could have had a quick start, we had a chance. I have a feeling that we're losing in New York and will have our hands full, in Buffalo. Washington will get it going too. I hate good teams who start slow, because it means that they make it up, when they come out of it. We could well be 2 and 5, by a week from Saturday. Which isn't a bad thing.

Getting Luongo for the sake of just making the playoffs is a serious waste of time. He gets us 8th place and a 1st round exit. Guess you consider that an achievement. |

Thats because we have a past. You're in the present because you have no where else to go.
Your team is old, barely much young ready to take over, cap issues. The past has been a collosal failure with no Cups.
So yea...the present is all you have. And you're 4th in your own division by the way. So im not sure you're even alive. - systemtool
I'm out for now, I'll be back in a few weeks and we can discuss the present. |

Thats too mush assumption. We should have lost to the Pens but won. Should have won vs the Isles, but lost. It happens. |

I know......I believe that too. I think he doesn't even get us into the playoffs. He gets us 9th or 10th place and a draft pick around 13. The worst possible scenereo. |

He has enough gas in the tank to get the Leafs into 7th or 8th place.
The problem is, with a 1st placed team, he got his ass kicked in the 1st round. And if he couldn't win a Cup at 32 with a 1st placed team, there's no way in hell he can do it at 34+ with whatever crap team the Leafs put in front of him. He would be older, the pressure would be higher and the team would be crappier. A recipe for failure.
It's a serious waste of time. Low playoff seeds and early playoff exits. No winning. No rebuilding. Just mediocrity. |

You never know. Look at the kings last year. Got hot at right time. They were average at best until the last month of the season |
