MASSIVE let down I agree, but at least the Oilers had already won two cups in the previous two years AND THEN went on to win another three in four years.

Five cups in seven years, hardly a let down.

- As_I_See_It

that particular year though...huge letdown. brutal. Steve (frank)in Smith...I still remember it.

Nobody is defending what Berttuzzi did but to say what Mcsorely did "pales in comparison" to what Berttuzzi did is just flat out stupid.

And a judge who ruled that the damage after the punch was not due to Berttuzzi. Try again big fella.

Ok bad choice of words. I meant it more like, Mcsorelys wasnt as bad. Both were brutal.

and I followed it up by listing three guys I feel were far worse overall. How come no one is mentioning that?

yes it was due to the ice he landed on with a 200+ lb gorilla on his back. hopefully the ice learned its lesson.

I stopped reading when you tried to say swinging a stick at someone's face when they aren't looking pales in comparison to punching them.

I have Richards and Quick on one pool and Richards, Kopitar and Williams in the other. Booner is killing me 8-1 right now, but most of our stats are really close, so a big night from Richards would really help!
- 1970vintage

I just added a player because of a LTIR who hits a lot....the only stat you have a lead in... he should cover the gap in a single game I think...

I'm ancored in the 3 goalie stats. with how close everything else is, that puts you in a vintage disadvatage...

Who cares? Do the Oilers have music and lights before the game starts - I bet they stole that from some other team. I'm sorry but knocking another team because of something the anthem singer does......really? really? I mean...really?

Every team steals something from another, and actually, a lot of the pregame stuff comes directly from the NBA, which did most of it first before the NHL who stole it like the player introductions, starting lineup annoucements, lasers, lights, fog and intro music.

Hmmm... Fair point, but I don't think they were as good as the Canucks.

That Caps team was nothing but firepower. I think the Canucks are better balanced and certainly had/have better goaltending.

- As_I_See_It

Sabres when they won the presidents trophy were arguably the most fit team to win a cup post lockout and they never one

I see about a half dozen people on here trying to tip the ballance in the CoHo trade towards Kassian.

Until Gillis sorts out the gigantic hole in the middle with a player who can handle the job until Gaunce is ready to be an impact player(probably not his rookie year), there's no comparison even with Kassian playing as good as he is on the wing. We have wingers to move around. What we don't have is a centre to solidify the 3rd line, play inplace of the never healthy Kesler on the second line, someone to anchor the middle of the 2nd PP unit all as a excellent playmaker(the most needed skill right now) and all at a affordable salary. Once Gillis fills the hole he created, we can then go on to compare who this team needs the most... it's not even close,,, so far we sat Kassian out of the playoffs that Hodgson would have been helping us in with all those above mentioned situations playing out..., that puts the tilt to Hodgson right off the bat...

Call me crazy but I don't measure a trade like I'm putting two lumps of gold on a scale and making note of the weight.... I'm far too complicated for that.

Speaking of Kassian...does it disgust anyone else how AV was so reluctant to use his hottest forward in the shootout the last two game? If Schneids let is a ealier goal, it would have been like the Oilers game when Kassian wouldnt have had his chance to win it.. I thought Malholtra was coming next and then Fin...

If you're talking about Kassian I think he could easily break 50 goals over a full 82 games schedule. If he continues to play with the Sedins I wouldn't be surprised if he pushes the 65-70 goal mark over an 82 game season. CODY WHO!?!?

Yes, sometimes when guys on here get PWNED by me they just resort to sarcasm to try joke it off. Usually their sarcasm is unfunny and makes them look pretty silly. Stick around long enough and you'll see what I mean.
