Most biased blogger on this site, pure comedy. Canuckland has been over-valuing their team for over a decade with ONE finals appearance, not even a win. I believe they are the current leaders for professional sports teams without a championship. It's fun to watch them flounder, actually. Cheap, dirty, whiney players followed by hockey-illiterate fans. They stole the U2 warmup song from another team, stole the "woooooooo" when they score from Boston, and each year it is ONE person's fault for their failure. The Province has had headlines in past years in April blaming the likes of Bure, Naslund, Messier, Luongo. No wonder these guys want out. Watch Vigneault's face on almost every penalty against them....it's this ridiculous, "oh, everyone is always against us" look. That same lazy, entitled attitude runs rampant in the Canucks organization from the GM to the players and to the fans. WHen's the last time Bieksa hit someone while the play was going and the opposing player was facing him? Kessler....lol...yeah....too easy.

Welcome to hockeybuzz. This kind of all over the place rant which knocks the blogger and the fans is unwelcome. Avoid this kind of thing in the future please. It is fine to express displeasure with the team or the players or the media in a polite fashion, but just saying you hate everyone because they suck is not okay. |

He asked for today's lineups, I obliged. Do you think that there are 58 better all around wingers in the game today than Burrows? - 1970vintage
I'm not sure, I think Drew Stafford could be on half the lines that were listed too, all i'm saying is that not all teams have their best 3 forwards on 1 line. Just because Burrows is better than some of those players does not automatically mean he would replace them on the top line. Case in point, Bobby Ryan is just as good as 90% of that list but because Ana chooses to play him on a different line than Getz and Perry does that mean he is not a "first line" player? |

You forgot to mention that thier anthem singer stole the crowd participation thing from the Oilers 2006 Cup run.
At least when Paul L. did it, it was spontaneus and kinda cool. For some reason it bugs me every time that little greasy haired dude does it.
We can give you the white towel waving thing as that came from Roger Neilson. Other than that though you guys should really get your own material.

Although it was indeed an aggressive post, there was ZERO hate in that paragraph, and it included many references to back up an opinion. Are you inferring that the blogger is not biased?
How about the references to "Jean-Luc" etc. etc. (I'm an anglophone from B.C. living in MTL by the way..lol)
Having re-read the post, "hockey-illiterate fans" was over the line, admitedly, for which I apologize.

Really liked Schroeder's game last night. Very confident with his passes, great skating, and handled himself well defensively.
Hope he continues the good play and retains a spot even when Kesler and Booth are back. - Fosco
I like the way he bounced right back up on the 127 times he was knocked off the puck and to the ice. |

Ahhhhh, and so to it we come at last. Just because Kassian is playing with the twins and Burrows is now centring the second line (a position he has not played) does not mean he is not a "first line" player either. I think that people outside Vancouver that don't get to watch Burrows play on a daily basis let a few unsavoury incidents taint their opinion of his hockey abilities. When he has been played in a first line situation he has risen to the task and performed at the level of a "first line" player. Now he is being asked to anchor the second line while Kesler is injured, and I expect he will also rise to the occasion. |

Maybe not. 56 wingers outscored him last year, with him being good enough two-way to make up for some of those, and some players being better physically/defensively than him despite scoring less. Then you factor in those who were injured, which could only push the relatively healthy Burrows down in an ideal world.
I would say he's in and around a top line winger, if only because he has a ton more experience playing high profile minutes than some of the up and coming guys. |

Pretty sure that Burrow makes 80% of these teams better as a first liner. - 1970vintage
On a couple teams, sure, BUT 80%? NOT A CHANCE!
Line combos change all the time. Looking at the W depth around the league,
Burrows is a "top 6," NOT a "top 3" In some cases it's debatable.
Now include the other options that each team has...
- Palmieri for Bobby Ryan
- Boston's wingers are better - Also have Lucic and Horton < than Burrows
- Buffalo winger are better - Stafford is comparable
- Calgary's wingers are better - Like I said, Cammy and Glencross, either way
- Bowman for Skinner or J. Staal
- Landeskog, no question - Duchene is C/W > Burrows / P.A. = Burrows
- Saad for P. Kane or Sharp... Take your pick
- Columbus- Burrows is an upgrade
- Dallas wingers are better - Also have Benn as C/W / Ryder = Burrows
- Detroit also have Zetterberg and Franzen
- Edmonton's wingers are better
- Florida - Burrows is an upgrade... But they also have Huberdeau on W
- LA's winger are better - Also have Carter/Richards as C/W
- Minny's wingers are better
- Montreal - Maybe - Also have Gionta
- Nashville - Also have Hornqvist
- Jersey - Elias also plays W
- Islanders - Debatable
- Rangers wingers are better - Also have Callahan
- Sens - Debatable - Also have Alfy
- Philly, nope - Also have Briere and Simmonds
- Coyotes - Sure, Burrows helps
- Pittsburgh - Let's not forget Malkin and Neal...
- Sharks winger are better - Also have Clowe and Couture sees a little W time
- Blue wingers are better - Somewhat debatable, but no.
- Tampa, maybe - Malone and Purcell are comparable
- Leafs - Will take Kessel, Lupul and JvR over Burrows.
- Washington - Burrows improves Wolski
- Jets' wingers are better

I saw him get bumped off the puck a couple times, but he won more puck battles than he lost.
Saw several other Canucks and Flames get bumped to the ice, as well. It happens... |

The ironic part is that Neilson was actually waving the white flag, as in surrender when he felt the refs had made bad calls to put the game out of hand for the Hawks.
Yet the Canuck fans adopted it and wave the white flag at every playoff game. |
