I was thinking about Burrows playing with Kesler/Booth when I posted.
Burrows' avg. PPG with the Sedins over the last 3 season is 0.71 PPG and that's including AB's best season 3 years ago when he put up 35/32. The past two years have been 0.66 and 0.65 respectively.
That said, even with a healthy Kesler/Booth, no way Burrows' production increases.
Like I said, hard-pressed for 30 points with or without Kesler/Booth. In a full season, Burrows MIGHT be a 25/25 guy. I've said this all along.
It's not a knock on Burrows by any means, I just think that he's been fortunate to play with the Sedins and that his numbers will be more realistic without the Sedins based on the player he is, IMO.
Never believed that Burrows was a top 3 winger. - As_I_See_It
Burrows has played on the top line in Vancouver for the past several seasons, ergo, he is a top 3 winger. But, whatever, lets play your game. Lets say Kassian sticks with the Sedins and Burrows drops back into a second line role with Kesler and Booth, and as you suggest, becomes a 25/25 guy. I think that puts him in some pretty good company. Mike Richards 18/26, Ryan Smyth 19/27, Sam Gagner 18/29, Tyler Bozak 18/29, Curtis Glencross 26/22, Danny Briere 16/33, Wayne Simmonds 28/21, Shane Doan 22/28, Jordan Staal 25/25, Andrew Ladd 28/22, Mike Fisher 24/27, Mikhail Grabovski 23/28...
I'd be pretty happy if this were the case. |

Your trolling ain't working here pal.
Burrows was on the top line for the World Championships! He's the man.
Coming from a team with ?, Bozak and Kessel as the top line, I think you should worry about your 1st line instead. - Scooby_Doo

Would mind seeing RNH (or RNG as I called him earlier) get one of those double hat tricks. |

I have Richards and Quick on one pool and Richards, Kopitar and Williams in the other. Booner is killing me 8-1 right now, but most of our stats are really close, so a big night from Richards would really help! |

And without Gagner, I don't see how that is possible.
But seriously, I think the 1st period against the sharks was a wake up call. At least I hope so |

ha ha, it was all auto-pick. Well, other than Quick, I took him with my first pick. I don't really care about who I have on my fantasy team, its more about beating the HB elite, which isn't going too well so far.
EDIT - oh yeah, I also have Brad "the beak" Marchand... |

Case in point. Most of the players you've listed are pretty much second liners in terms of talent, production and circumstance.
So is Kassian now considered a "top 3" winger now? No. There are plenty of players around the league in roles/on lines not because of their abilities, but because of circumstance. (See Bozak - As you have listed)
Has Burrows been "top 3" because there was no one else? Most likely. Seriously, who else could the Canucks have put with the Sedins that would have been better? The Canucks have tried numerous players up there with the Sedins and Burrows has been the best fit, it's as simple as that. By no means does that make Burrows a legit "top 3 winger." When people talk about "top 3 wingers," names like D. Sedin, Ovechkin, Perry, Parise, Iginla, P. Kane, Kovalchuk are mentioned... NOT BURROWS!
Perhaps our definition of what defines "a top 3" is different.
Think about it. If Burrows was going to be traded, would he be traded as a "top 3" or a "top 6?" My money is on the latter
Again, it's not a knock on Burrows because he is an decent player, he's just not a bona fide "top 3," IMO. |

I guess it depends on where he was being traded. Scratch that, there is not a single team in the NHL that Burrows couldn't play on the first line making their top 6 better.
