Mancari had 4 points in 3 games with vanek - homiedclown
you are a big Brian Flynn fan aren't you?
Do you think he has an NHL future? Does he have the size, speed, and smarts? Does he play a complete game or is he just offensive?

What type player would u like to see us bring in? - jdfitz77
A physical d man that can play 23 minutes a game
A second line LW
Drop foligno to third line
A respectable miller in net
Then the roster would be as good as any team in the east

A true #1 center who is good on faceoffs.... the biggest need for several years now. CoHo & Ennis are a nice #2a #2b pair. Of course, this all depends on how Grigo developes. But as of right now as the team stands, a true #1 faceoff winning center should be the ultimate goal to persue. - madcow251
I don't know that that will be available
And I think we are fine at center- actually in really good shape
These guys are young and still developing,
And add in Girgensons at some point
I think we are in decent shape for NOW,
With potential to be in GREAT shape for the next 10+ years |

Fringe second liner, center pending
He would have been a first rd pick
Late bloomer

So do you think there is a chance he beats Armia to the NHL? I know Armia has less than 20 games in Finland left before he can come to at least the AHL to complete this season.
Next year though.. what do you think? |

Yup... I think i calculated out last year that if he would have stayed on the pace he was for a complete season he would of had about 185 hits which would have been top 3 in the NHL. - JVince11
Sounds good to me!
It's def an aspect our team has been missing for a while now |

Per NHL.com...
Avs' O'Reilly has been released from his KHL contract. He also reinjured his foot last night in a game.
Wow... Avalanche cannot buy a break this year. - JVince11
That Hurts . Hurts the kid big time . He is totally out of work with no paycheck at all.

I thought he was just tiny though? Isn't he listed at 5'10.. which means he is only 5'8 in real life? |

I wonder if they feel they added 80% of Clowe with Ott already. |

Pretty much agree
The defenseman u speak of is VERY important to get IMO
I like Foligno on the 2nd line
I like that we have physical players on every line except our top one
And I also think we may have the "scoring forward" ppl are asking for...
We might just have to wait till the end of the season,
Or next year,
Before ARMIA gets here
I think he'll be a STUD
Vanek-Hodgson-Pomminville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Ott-Grigorenko-ARMIA
I really like that top9 for next season and beyond

I thought Clowe had even more offensive upside than does Ott though?
I don't know who else I like for a 2LW if Foligno is dropped to the 3rd line...
I also would like to see a talented offensive winger next to Grigo on the 3rd line as well and not just Foligno and Ott.... I hope that Flynn or Armia could provide that next season. If Leino is not going to play this season.. i think he gets bought out. |

I hope he is ok because I do like him as a player. You have to wonder how uneducated these players really are and how dumb it is to put your full trust in your agent. Obviously we don't know what kind of salary talks were going on between him and the Avs but why not just get a fair deal done (instead of trying to up end the Avs) and play hockey? Instead he opted to go to Russia, and as you mentioned got hurt and has no contract. What if it's a serious injury and the Avs want no part with him anymore? What if this injury never fully heals? Just not smart in my opinion. |

This is what I am toying with right now on capgeek... I would love Armia in that role because of everything we both have been saying.. I like a physical player in Foligno and Ott on those lines to sort of protect the other players.. Stafford will never be a hartnell type guy. I know htat Armia's team in Finland is no where near hte playoffs and he will be able to play the final 10 games or so in the AHL this season. maybe all off season he could get adjusted and start next season in the NHL.. who knows... If not Armia then maybe Flynn is my thought... I just don't see Leino on this team next year and have a hard time finding Gerbe on it next year too...
our 4th line should look like
Tropp - McM/Porter - Kaleta.

he is a UFA after this season.. and is already getting paid 4M by them.. I don't know if they have the cap space to give him a raise. |

Yeah, a bit but it's not a huge discrepancy (Edit: but he definitely does, on a better team). He's bigger, too. But I think they're similar in terms of what they bring to the team. But sheesh, could you imagine the two of them on a line? We actually WOULD have a Lucic answer then, no offense to John Scott. |

I've only seen him in the past two world jr tourneys,
But he was finland's best player in both,
And looked GREAT to me
I think Vanek is a good comparison to his talent level and type of player he'll be
I have high hopes/expectations for him
With him and Grigorenko potentially on our 3rd line next year,
I think that line could be as productive as that 3rd line we had behind the drury & Briere lines after the lockout
Max-Roy-Pominville was nasty
Im looking forward to that again next season with our new guys |

I would love to see it... especially a Clowe - Ott - Kaleta line... that could even be our PK unit. |
