I don't see him here really. Like I said, he's proven to be at his very best at center but only marginal on the wing. We're set down the middle. Schroeder and Jensen should be on the big club full time next year.

I think he'd fit terrificly in Anaheim as their #2 center with the size they have on the wings. If WPG doesn't plan on making Schfloppy a center in the pros he could fit on their second line in place of Wellwood/Antropov

If ANA does loose Getzlaf to UFA...then yes I can see Gagner in ANA reunited with Cogliano. Even if ANA keeps Getzlaf, Gagner as 2nd line C is good because Koivu is gone.

O'Rielly would fetch something comparable to Turris. So, you are looking at something comparable to a top prospect (Rundblad) and a second.

Nobody in Edmonton has the nerve to do the deal.

Fair comparable, but I think you could expect him to cost more than Turris did. Considering that Turris had asked for (demanded?) a trade and that he hadn't been particularily productive in his career to that point, Phoenix was lucky (or smart) to get what they did. I could see them wanting a top offensively-minded dman (similar to Rundblad), a bottom six roster player, and a pick (2nd, 3rd, or 4th depending upon the roster player). Not only is there no one in EDM with the nerve to do that, but we don't even have the pieces that COL would likely be looking for.

I agree entirely. I meant Turris as a minimum.

Remember, Rundblad was Ottawa's super prospect at the time. Many people in Ottawa thought they had badly over paid for Turris.

I think this is really about needing the pieces and I doubt anybody in Oiler's management will risk dealing a top prospect.

Every one of these oiler blogs are an embarrassment. All these conspiracy theories (tambellini has a grudge) and dart board deals (ie Dubinsky for dubi) are just rediculous. You sound more like a dilusional leafs fan than a blogger and your so called sources must be magic 8 balls or even better....systemfool.

No way the Canucks would trade Lou to Edmonton, they aren't in the business of making their direct competition better. Only for a severe overpayment and gags isn't that. Even if in some crazy world gillis wanted to luongo would have to want to go there. Highly unlikely.

I find it amazing that Sam Gagner and some other asset is always enough in this guys head to land a super star. Yet Gagner is still for some reason an Oiler

You're awesome pal, I bet you can't wait for his next blog where you don't trade one of the young kids for a different superstar, yet Gagner and second rounder will get it done.

The reason Luongo isn't an oiler isn't because Gagner is an overpayment let's just say that

- Mystery

you're an idiot, he made one stupid blog about Weber and that's all you can focus on.... and the reason why Luongo isn't an Oiler is because nobody (frank)ing wants that donkey contract, get a grip buddy.... Name one other superstar that Gagner and a pick was mentioned in a trade for? Weber is the only one, and it was a ridiculous trade offer, (frank)ing get over it

*NOTE TO TROLLS AND IDIOTS*

Cloutier does not speak for any Oiler fans, so when you come here to cry about how "we" over value their players you look like the moron you probably are.

*NOTE TO CLOUTIER*

You do not have sources. You might know someone who says they know someone, but please stop writing like you know for sure.

They are just trying to justify the trade between Kassian and Hodgson. At the moment, with Kesler out, I would prefer to have Hodgson than Kassian. Kassian is playing well and with Kesler back, that's questionable as to how he catches up to form along with Booth...but Kassian is definitely not a better player than Hall, RNH, or Eberle, all four are different type of players.

I think Esplen as he is calling Kassian "Bert 2.0" and hankthetank is saying he could score 40-50 goals this year.

Big centres aren't a necessity. Look at Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

You can change up the style of play between lines with your wingers. You know, the other 2/3 of the line? You know, the position we've spent 2 of our 3 1st overalls on, not to mention another 1st round steal and a 10th overall? Have some faith that our young guns, who are lauded for nothing except their creativity and pure skill and criticized for everything else, will be able to be creative enough to generate different looks out there.

I am clearly biased because I am a huge fan and believer of O'Reilly, but making a trade of say Yakupov for O'Reilly is the kind of trade a cup winning team makes.

O'Reilly is a flat out winner, ala Drury.
Yakupov is not.

can't believe I actually read that.

First Ryan O'Riley is not going to make the second line any better. In todays NHL you need to be able to play defense. Every one is making Gagner the scrap goat of that line but lets look at it.

Yakapov is trying to play defensively but is failing. Props to him for at least trying and given that he is 18 in a mans league good for him.

Gagner is trying Trying but again hasn't been that great at it. He is smaller but he is doing other things like winning draw and setting up Yakapov.

Hemsky. All I have to say is you that those guys at the COH won't ever give you a defensive error if you don't engage. feel free to score as many goal as you want if you don't even try to back check......

I don't care how many goals or points you put up. This second line is set to fail.
