American Reunion was my favorite of the bunch... Mainly because of the breasts involved in that car scene.

I don't think you get an established top-6 F AND an established top-4 D for Benn. You probably get one established player, and one top grade prospect or young player. Then you can tweak the deal from there. Of course this is just my opinion, who the hell knows what Benn would actually fetch in a trade. Maybe the first proposal I mentioned (Gagner, Klefbom, and a 2nd) could be the framework for a deal. Maybe you add another prospect to that mix. Either way, I agree, I don't see a deal to be had.

If this Benn situation gets any worse, things could go south in a hurry for Joe Nieuwendyk.

I wouldn't trade Eberle or Hall for Benn, nor will the Oilers. I absolutely love Jamie Benn and I would be okay with giving up anything outside of the Oklahoma Four and Yak to get him. The reason I love Benn so much is he is one of the very few guys in the league who would provide everything the Oilers top 6 is missing. He's got size, strength, solid defensive play, penalty killing ability, he's good in the faceoff circle, and he can score. The problem is when I picture him being a perfect fit in the Oiler's top 6, it's along with all the guys we already have there (aside from Gagner and maybe Hemsky).

That would make me the happiest guy ever. We are gonna need a physical 3rd line centre who is good defensively to replace Horcoff once he is bought out.

I'm not sure I agree with the statement "Hemsky, when healthy, is just too talented to get rid of yet.".

I look at the stats from our first two games this season and I notice that of the 4 out of 5 goals that have been scored on us when at even strength have been with Hemsky/Gagner/Yakapov on the ice. While its still early in the season I just see that line as a defensive liability.

Grit and somebody who can play at both ends of the ice is definetly missing from that 2nd line. That problem could be resolved by replacing Gagner but I wouldn't exclude the possibility of replacing Hemsky either. Personnely i'm hoping for Hartikainen to take Hemsky's spot.

The best package I can think of (posted this earlier) is Gagner, Klefbom, 2nd round pick, Martin Marincin. Maybe you get some traction with a proposal like that. Who knows though, from a Dallas perspective I'd still be skeptical.

Love him. Talent and so much heart. He's fitting in well on a line with Yak and Hemsky too. Points in both games. If Eberle wasn't the next captain I would say Gags. Listening to interviews from Eberle and Horcoff about the first period last night its like night and day. Horcoff is completely ready to let the Oil suck and draft high again. "Its a learning experience". Eberle, " Its unacceptable". He needs to be captain ASAP!

The best part of the package is the 2 dmen. That is a strength of Dal.(according to their fans) They will need a marketable young forward if they move a fan fav like Benn, and that player need to be able to win the fans over quick.

Though they are probably better off with the offer you suggest long term.
