Yup. As much as the injury sucks, It'll be nice to see how JvR copes with first line minutes, and whether Frattin can get his touch back. Frattin, Kadri and Komarov could be a living (frank)ing nightmare for opposition skaters. - lumlums
This also better lead to Kadri getting more ice time on the PP. Even when it was 4-2, with a 5 on 3 and 2 minutes left, Kadri still wasn't out there. |

Odds are, van Riemsdyk is going to get the first shot at playing on the 1st line, but it opens up a spot for Frattin and allows Kadri to get more ice time. - Two_For_Truth
Makes sense, but it wouldn't surprise me if Mac stays up on the first line, and van Riemsdyk stays on the second with kulemin and grabovski, like they finished the game. |

Serious question: has the NHL tightened the definition of boarding?
I didn't particularly agree with a few of the calls (the first one on the Penguin who plastered Komi was just a good hit, imho). |

Im not so sure. If the team can play this kind of D for the majority of the season we have the depth to over come it in the mean time. Especially of Kadri and JVR can play consistently. - systemtool
We won't be playing this sort of game every night. Lupul was a PPG player for us last year. When the others cool down a bit we needed him and Kessel to spark the team up. Bah what can you do.

Of all the young players to give the spot to, MacArthur is the least important. |

You've gotta think that it will happen. Though if the results keep coming, I won't complain too much as to how |

Who was the "they"? If its the media, then I don't believe a word of it. I'd call up the natural replacement who was the final cut, rather than the centre who was waived for being a female dog - lumlums
Agreed. Frattin makes most sense.... But the "they" is actually nonis. When conolly went down he said we may see conolly again with the leafs. |

wow Toronto didn't go 3 straight games of under 3 goals against in the entire season last year. - blahman20
Carlyle is going to make a world of difference. So much youth on this team, with more in the pipes. This could get interesting. |

I agree, and the second boarding on Kunitz near the end of the 3rd was a weird call. It looked like Komisarek just got levelled clean! |

I like how every guy he called out responded with more effort.
Do you think if I asked, he'd call out my wife, saying she needs to put out more? |

Well, what have we here?....
Very solid PK against the Pens PP. Most pleasant surprise.
Excellent game from Reimer as well.
Excellent seeing guys like JVR and Mac open their respective accounts too.
Yet another solid game by Kadri, and I'm sure we' re all interested to see whether JVR or Kadri slots into Lupul's place.
I'm hoping Frattin gets the open roster spot. |

That was a bad call. He got hit while he was winding up to clear the puck. Wasn't even facing the boards. |

Good point. I'm not sure where it originated from that Connolly would be the first call up, but i do remember reading it.
We will find out in the AM i guess, tough game against nyi tomorrow. |
