Holzer is not waiver eligible, so now it is a question of who they want to keep, Frasor (waivers) or Holzer.
- LeafMan

Well depends if the leafs want to lose fraser or not, if they dont care he will be gone, if they do care, holzer will be sent down

Right now, id rather start kostka over holzer or fraser

Exactly... always play to win. If you don't then at least you come out with prode if not the 2 points...
- lumlums

its not about not trying or "playing to win", you just offload the talent for prospects and picks so you have a team that tries hard, but loses much more than it wins.

Honestly us being tied with the luongo rumours is a waste. We dont have the team in front of Luu to actually go all the way. Its a big gamble for him and its a big game for the two big fishes in the summer who might just resign with Anahiem. Our best bet is if our goalies fall apart or one of them does, is to trade for Jonathen Bernier from LA. Try to get a low price on him and bring him in as a gamble but for the right price. Then we draft a good pick this year who is a center and continue the build

See, this is what I hate about the Toronto sports media: they basically just make poop up.

If the odds of Gretzky landing in Toronto are, in fact, 1 in 1000, then the media responsible for following this story (and churning out all the rumors) have failed miserably.

Everybody gets on Ek's lousy prediction record (and rightly so), but what about these hacks in the mainstream media who get paid salaries to sit around and pretend to be the authorities on the game of hockey. I look at a story like this and can't help but think that either they're terrible at their jobs, or McGown is terrible at his job, or some combination or the two.

- Leeman4Gilmour

The only one's I generally listen to are Dreger, McKenzie and LeBrun.... if they're speculating they at least tell you as such

After last night, I think I hate Steve Simmons as much as any Leafs fan. Wow is he ever a smug and annoying piece of sh!t.
- sanfordnson

This ties into what I just posted a couple minutes ago.

He is a completely smug, arrogant dippoop who knows nothing about hockey. I can't even imagine how terrible he'd be as a player, or a coach, or a GM.

Who ordains these idiots the final authority on all hockey related news? They are just talking heads who can't even be bothered to track down real stories. What was the last piece of insider info that Simmons truly broke open on his own? What trades has he broken?

He's no better than some schmuck with a blog.

To all those saying trade for halak, elliot would be gone first before halak and i think the blues know that for a fact by now. Halak is the better goaltender.. there is no way halak is traded

If we take Bernier I think Reimer will be going the other way. L.A will need a back-up for Quick.

He is the only young goaltender that is on the trade list at the moment if you think about it thats in the nhl and wants to be the starter and prove himself and traded

Not Holzer. He has a two way contract which means he can go from AHL to NHL and NHL to AHL without going through waivers.

thats not what two way means

two way applies to the salary earned only.. he still has to clear waivers.. thats based on a combo of age and pro experience.

'cause other teams see them slacking and want nothing to do with them so the leafs are stuck with them for now.

Holzer does not. HE signed his contract in 2010 and has only played about 4 NHL games so is still wiaver exempt.

Capgeek has a nice waiver calculator, bless their souls

I heard this here multiple times. Holzer is waiver exempt, so most likely when Guards is back, he's the one to go.

That's kind of a weird gamble, depends how bad reimer does.. but either way we could always have 3 and just run with whoever is playing the best, i know 3 is a little much but meh, at this point who cares
