Way to start the thread with the dumbest proposal i've ever seen. Why did you add Percy, and why do we not have a 1st and Okposo added our way? Kessel gets 50+ goals with Tavares and puts them in a playoff spot. Why on earth would we do that.

Tank, get McKinnon, then have a young gun team like Edmonton? a first round pick in that deal would be beauty. Maybe get Drouin too.


Strome,Nieddereiter,McKinnon and Drouin for Kessel and Percy would instantly turn our team around.

Then Kessel would play one year and walk as a free agent and that would be the worst trade ever for the Islanders

I think as a whole, Detroit's just too solid of an organization to really let it tank down the drain. They've been down this road before and then Franzen, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk came out of nowhere. Pisses me right off too.

You know their defense is bad, when two of their better defensemen are Leaf rejects. Colaiacovo and White. And their both injured.

I admire that organization. Extremely well run. Constantly have a flow of new talent coming though their ranks. Never give out crazy contracts.

If we could pull off a trade with NYI that involved Strome, Nino and their 1st this year for kessel, i would do that in a heart beat. It's just wishful thinking at this point. You put yourself in NYI position, does that trade sound reasonable to you?

You can't have it both ways. There's no such thing a full-scale tank and rebuild that doesn't involve many years of hardship.

Ask Edmonton how instant the turnaround has been. Or, better yet, the Islanders or Blue Jackets.

I think this would work for both teams, but Nonis would need ownership approval to trade our best player and tank this year. It would help us get closer to one of Jones, Drouin, or Mackinnon at the 2013 draft though.
