Either way, for any agent to make something public is bush league. He's a swiss guy......maybe Nino should think about using someone who's from N America? Maybe that info wouldnt have been leaked?

There are so many ways this could've been handled better from both sides. I expect it from the Islanders and I believe so does the rest of the league. If it was in fact the agent and it wasn't discussed with his client then he's got his head up his a$$.

Has anyone confirmed where the 'leak' actually came from? I know they said that Nino's "Camp" made the trade request but I'm more interested in knowing how the info got leaked to Strang this late. If it's Nino's agent, I seriously doubt such a request was made without his absolute consent. If it's a leak from within the organization, that's a BIG problem.

Nino's reaction sounds like damage control after having spoken to Garth. Either way, if it's a dead issue now, we can move on but the nature of the information making it to the press is concerning.

there's two points in that conversation, if the translation is accurate that indicate to me that he did talk with Nino about it, and that Nino was on board with it. He indicates to Nino that he'll take the heat for it (which still requires Nino's approval) and that later Nino did approve of it.

Let's face it, this kid is not the second coming of Cam Neely, he's got a LOT of work to do and hasn't done a damn thing in the NHL. His 9 game audition on the second line the first year was a 1 goal "explosion" and last season was awful. This sounds like it was done after he didn't get a training camp invite and since has been put to bed, at least as far as Snow is concerned. Bottom line, Isles hold his rights and he's got a contract. STFU and play well enough that you can't be buried in the minors. They'll need callups during the season and if you want to be one and get a chance to stick you'd best not be making stupid demands when your body of work is pitiful at the NHL level and a few months in the AHL.

Bet you those 5 or 6 guys didn't watch Nino play all last year.
I do understand his frustration... to a degree....should he be given a shot on the 1st or 2nd line? Not outright...Maybe, if an injury occurs, tho. But I'm guessing Garth is a little gun shy this year after how things went for Nino last year and I wouldn't blame him for that. You don't go from 1 goal in 55 games to being a top producer in the NHL in 6 months.

My buddy is a scout for the Habs... there's alot of chatter out there right now.

The only problem is Bailey is injured... can't trade him until he comes back.

Might have to substitute him with another player.

Looks like the Habs are going to move him before the weekend is over if they can get the right deal.
