living in vancouver I see a ton of luongo. He's developed a disturbing habit where when he goes down, he's upright for a couple of seconds then flops onto his stomach and flails around wildly. His glove hand isn't solid, it's like he can't feel the puck in his hand so he bobbles it a lot. He's not good on breakaways and doesn't seem to always pay attention. I'd say most of the time on the first shot he's fairly solid due to positioning and a team like Vancouver who is solid defensively can clear the front of the net and remove the rebounds - I don't know if that would be the case for the Isles. (lol)

I also know Gillis has said that he's expecting a top six forward, top 4 defenseman and a prospect, which is laughable to me. The price is ridiculous, the goalie isn't as solid without the team in front of him (he's not the same goalie he was in florida) and he's going to be heading down that big hill called decline over the next few years, maybe sooner.

His price tag, contract and skill level all combine to make him one uninteresting package if I was Snow. No thanks.

Interesting. I haven't seen him much over the last two years but most of what you're mentioning is fixable. As I said, because his style allows him to be physically economical, I don't anticipate his age-decline to be as great as most. That said, I totally agree that the Isles should have no interest in bringing him here. I'm assuming Nabby will be dealt (unless we're somehow in playoff position). That clears the way for one of our kids from the Bridge. At that stage, it likely/hopefully becomes the age of stability in our net.

And I again, I see no way that Luongo would accept a trade to the Isles. He remains bitter over being traded from here and likely see's the franchise much like just about any other player in the league. We're taboo.

That's a funny post coming from you? I can't count how many times you've stuck your nose into a discussion me and anyone were having? I'm guessing I'd probably run out of toes and fingers? I'm sure just about every single person on here could back me up with that one? How was Vegas? It was pleasent here in your absence.

XM's NHL Station just had a segment about NINO's request to be traded.

The consensus was. NINO feels he's been misused and not being developed properly.

He see's other 1st rd picks playing on top lines with their NHL teams and feels he can do likewise.

Then the conversation went to the mistakes the Isles have made in the past by rushing prospects.

Including NINO.

And how Snow is now trying to turn back the clock so to speak and undo the wrong of bringing NINO up last season.

They were split on who deserves the blame for the trade request, NINO or SNOW. Either way, it seems to be a legit demand from NINO and his agent.

Yeah, those of us who live in the New York area are used to having to pay for stuff, so that part of it isn't a big deal- for me, it's more my time, like I said. Brooklyn will be much better for one reason, which I believe is the real point- we might actually have something WORTH WATCHING in a REAL building.

very good point with the time...this is true didnt really put full thought into that one lol but like you say...its a real building!

So it looks Nino's agent was behind this whole fiasco..

explains what I wrote yesterday....after scrimmage nino was interviewed and said, "I am going back to Bridgeport for now(where I'm kicking arse)....Garth has a plan..."

This is more than a week-old issue. Great Scoop Katie Strang. Go grab yourself another pitcher of beer from the keg.

And the negative PR machine keeps-a-churnin'. The only thing that works for the Isles.

Probably the signature defining-moment(and what was to follow) from which this team is still recovering. Thanks Milbury.

He probably should have shared his plan for him before not inviting him to camp? That may have prevented this entire bad PR from happening. He was to busy making trades maybe?

I honestly feel that the trade for Yashin was more damaging. Losing Chara and the pick that would become Spezza for Yash..... I guess we could call them 1 and 1A
