if nino was in fact blindsided by his agent, then hell fire the guy. if not than the agent is falling on the sword for this one and it is clearly just damage control.
- LetsGoIsles

i think the latter is what happened. To me, his agent is horrible, regardless of what happens. Where is Ninos old man? He's in the wrong hands....

depends on the deal but if its luongo for RDP, id do something along those lines....(depending on the development of the goalie prospects and what the isles can get back for them)
- LetsGoIsles

I just dont see this happening with Nabakov playing well, and Poulin and Nilson in the system. It just doesnt make sense. If Milbury were at the helm then yes i can see this happening. But why is Garth gonna take on that Luongo contract? Its more money per year, and one more year than Rickys..........i just dont see this happening. ESPECIALLY with Wangs love affair of DP.

In Dee's world.....the Islanders play in the Coliseum forever, Garth Snow becomes the greatest GM in all of sports. No one can kick a tire like that man. Charles Wang is made of pure gold and not only cures disease and hunger but also does no wrong on the Island. Red Light Ricky is the man between the pipes and despite his 7.03 GAA he leads the Islanders to victory. Finally, Brooklyn is this mysterious place that Dee nor the Islanders will ever venture too, they are not sure what bridge they have to cross to go from Long Island to Brooklyn. All is good in Dee's world

#Islanders have jumped into the mix for Luongo...BIG TIME

Then what trade him to Toronto?

- kear20

These "sources" are probably coming out of Vancouver as they have no need for Lu. He's a d bag who flapped his yap and cost his team the cup..........he's never won the big game. No thanks...

guy is a world class goalie, if you think it's his fault they didn't win the cup I'd say that's a little short sighted. If he was our goaltender I'd say he'd be the most talented we have EVER had on this team. With that said I don't think it'd be the smartest move but having a real goaltender on the team would be nice. I don't see it happening.

I agree with you, but the price doesn't sound right, they are trying to move him for equal value, he's not a dump... If he were a dump he'd be in Toronto already. So if he's not a dump.. AND they are doing us the favor of taking back DP's contract.. how many prospects & 1st round picks is this costing us?

But thats my point... i feel its a great thing...just speaking for people in nassau and further east... there are plenty of hockey fans who go to games who do not drive and the coliseum was a pain in the a** to get to... its so much more convenient...the whole brooklyn thing needs to stop getting bashed the majority of fans who show up to the games now will continue to go, and will this will open up the oppurtunity for people who were possibly unable to attend, go to these games. change is not always a bad thing is what im getting at and Dee really needs to give it up now... theyre not in kansas city or quebec... theyre 2 counties over.. not a country over
- mayhemhockey2

Yeah, those of us who live in the New York area are used to having to pay for stuff, so that part of it isn't a big deal- for me, it's more my time, like I said. Brooklyn will be much better for one reason, which I believe is the real point- we might actually have something WORTH WATCHING in a REAL building.

I disagree man.......a world class goalie doesnt chirp the other teams goalie during the cup finals when he let in 8 himself. He put uneeded pressure on his team, and they lost as a result. I think his best days are way behind him. I dont think its entirely his fault that they didnt win the cup........but he certainly wasnt playing world class as seen by his goals against.

Yeah....that's my issue. If I'm getting Luongo, as I said a couple of weeks ago, they HAVE TO take back Kvasha and Parrish, otherwise no deal.

First of all, lets be real clear here. Vancouver is not in the drivers seat. Its public knowledge that they are trying to move Luongo. With that said, its a buyers market, not a sellers. Who the Canucks think they're kidding is beyond me. They're never gonna get "equal value" as they're the ones making the call.

If that's why the Canucks lost they got bigger problems then Luongo. We'll agree to disgree on this one I guess.
