Can't they use Pronger's LTIR or is that position specific?
- jstross

You can only have so many contracts in the system, regardless of cap dollars. The Flyers are right up near the max.

Yeah. This isn't a playoff team, I'm convinced of that, but I don't think it is a bottom 5 type team in the NHL either. Maybe with the lottery the Flyers can get a top 5 pick, without a bottom 5 record. Not likely, but possible. The top 3 prospects are studs.
- PLindbergh31

I don't see any reason why this team can't be a playoff team.

Aye.. I was teasing.. I gave up on this team before the season started. I removed myself from my emotions for the team and realized they arent good enough.

I think its funny people dont want to trade our forward depth for dmen bc it woild leave a hole up front. The hole in the backend needs to be closed. Forward depth does no good if yoi have no defense.

- Flyersgod

I don't recall anyone stating that they don't want to trade any forward depth for a defenseman. What I've read is that people want to make fair trades, and not overpay.

My doubts are mounting but if you look around the league other would be playoff teams got off to a bad start too.

You actually read that people dont want to over pay? Who the hell would want their team to overpay for a player?

You just make poop up.

Jason Arnott and Mike Knuble are FAs, but they'd have to clear contracts out to sign them.
- Jsaquella

as much as i love knuble, arnott would be the guy i'm calling right now

Yeah, and I think it's cowardly. Well, as cowardly as one can be in regards to an internet forum with no real life implications. But for real, I hate my stupid screen name here and I stick with this account anyway. If I'm wrong about something, fine, mark it down, I accept whatever reputation I have. It's the only credibility we can have here.

Isn't it amazing how members who just joined a few weeks ago, know the landscape of the the board, and personal things about other posters?

Have to get better in their own end. Special teams needs to improve as well.

The Rangers roster isn't as good as I thought.

Their top two lines are solid, and their top 2 d pairings are very good, and of course Lundqvist...

But they have a 7th D-man in Stu Bickel on their fourth line, and their third pairing of Eminger and Stralman stink.

I think I like the Bruins, and Pens roster a little better top to bottom.

- PLindbergh31

Eminger is playing his first game this Season. Sauer is injured, and so is Asham. The Rangers have a very good lineup in my opinion.

Thanks. So if the tests come back negative, he will play on the weekend. Awesome to know.

I'll explain it further. The results of the tests will determine how long he will be out.

There have been multiple trade suggestions that would be an overpayment for players. Frequently the case on Hockeybuzz.

Between the two, that would be my choice also. Probably has more in the tank. He did score 17 goals last year I believe.

Once Laughton plays his 6th game he's the 50th contract. If he's returned to junior, they'd have a slot open to add a free agent or trade a pick to add a player...but Laughton wouldn't be available to be recalled outside of emergency status

I lean to Arnott as well, probably has more in the tank, also can play center & win draws.
