Their trading assets mainly are Couts, B Schenn, Voracek, and to a lesser extent Read and maybe Simmonds.

I am fearful it may be Voracek they end up trading.

- Marc D

I think it's more likely to be B. Schenn because he could get them more than the others. I consider Couts untouchable.

The problem is, in trading for a replacement, they'll end up coughing up assets. It's going to be interesting to see what happens
- Jsaquella

There are assets and players I would more then willing to move to improve. Voracek, Read, Meszaros, Cousins, any draft pick that isn't a first. Scott Laughton looks pretty good but we have the youth. We might be lacking the leadership and NHL experience. I would kill to have Jagr back because he might be over the hill but he also has pride.

I'd trade Schenn for Subban as well but with the recent acquisition of Luke Schenn, there is no way Brayden Schenn gets traded unless Luke is going with him, which is highly unlikely. So now you have another more realistic trade scenario of Couturier for Subban and that one's a little tougher to make a decision on.
- FreshFlyer

We acquired and traded Rich while Ron Sutter was on the team. You can't let family ties effect a move that would improve your team. It's a cute little story but that's where it ends.

There's no way B.Schenn goes without his brother, I think MTL would want Couts and thats a tough decision to make. In Couts you get a possible franchise type Centerman and Subban you get a possible franchise type D-man.

I don't think I'd give up Couts. And I don't see why the Schenns would need to be traded together...

draft day trade...trade for weber at the draft...you do the math...and homer gave JVR 4.25 for a 40 pt season...what a joke, if i was couts or schenn id ask for the same damn money....thats a thought that will give homer nightmares

They've never played on the same team before. They're together for two weeks and now they can't be separated? I don't get it.

But why though? I can understand if you made a package with them, given their youth and potential. But other than that, if you could keep one and get a good, needed player using the other then that would make more sense.

He gave him $4.25m for what he thought he'd do, not for what he did.

yeah thats a pretty dumb scenario: "lets give a 23 year old 4.25 million dollars and see what he can do"

I'm willing to trade Schenn for Subban. Telling me Subban isn't the equal to Webber isn't breaking any news yo. The Webber ship has sailed. Webber can't be a part of the Flyers plans now or any time in the near future. Subban however is a free agent and so he can still be signed. That's not the way I would approach it because you're right... Montreal is going to match unless you're crazy about the money and that's just not a sane solution.

Not saying it's right or wrong but teams do it all the time with high potential young players. Edmonton just did it with Taylor Hall. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

He didn't just give him the money. It's a contract negotiation. Holmgren's not just tossing around Comcast money like a drunken basketball player at a strip club.

That would be a tough one to swallow. But you have to think about it. If anything else PK Subban would be an absolute fan favorite here. The need is certainly there
