He's not a top line centre, just plays there because they haven't found anyone else. That being said, he has some chemistry with the other two. - Old Pappy
not sure i'd call it chemistry. you could plug anyone on that top line, and they'd probably put up similar numbers to bozak.
as it pertains to this blog, not sure he has much value in a trade. even though he plays on the top line, i doubt his value is anything more than what a typical 3rd-4th line player has. |

Not true.. They keep trying to slot other guys on there but they keep coming back to bozak because he has good chemistry with loops and kessel. He's not a bad player at all, that argument carried more weight in 2010/2011. |

who else did they try there last year? maybe grabovski, but i don't remember anyone else playing on that top line.
not saying he's a bad player, i just don't think he has a whole lot of trade value. i would put his trade value on par with a 3rd line guy, not a top six forward. |

As the TSN guys mentioned; The whole league knows Ben Bishop is for sale. And it is not a fact he is better than Dubnyk. At best all he will do is bring in more competition to push Dubnyk to be better.
If it is a known fact the team wants to move him I am pretty sure he is not going for a 1st round pick. - OilHorse
The more buyers, the more value he has.
Bishop can play, thats all I will say. |

agreed, at this point he's not really any worse than dubnyk, but he certainly has the POTENTIAL to be better.
i'm the first to admit that his NHL experience is limited, but he played really well when called upon last year for teh sens, and against some pretty tough teams.
but like i said in an earlier post, i don't think edmonton and ottawa are good trading partners.....both teams have the same needs. |

Connolly. Bozak could be a third line guy on a good team. He just kinda fall right on that line of being too good for the third line, but not quite good enough for the top line. Grabo should be on the top line but he has better chemistry with Mac and Kuli. |

i dont' think anyone actually expected connolly to be good with anyone. lol
i agree that he'd be a good 3rd line player, and i think that's exactly where he'd slot in on most teams. |

not all no. but unfrtunately for the decent ones like you, many are. it was a troll buffet after the first last night, and now its essentially a guarantee that the next time the Leafs or Canucks or Flames get lit up, even moderate Oilers fans will probably pile on. |

Yeah no doubt. The great thing about hockeybuzz imo is that when things do start to get out of control and you don't enjoy the conversation anymore you can always go do something else for a few hours |

We're not getting Luongo, We're not trading Gagner, the world isn't ending because we got our asses kicked, Horcoff isn't a tool just because there's not much to say about being tuned after one period. It's pretty evident what the oilers need to work on. |

Richard Cloutier: Shark Bait! + Luongo Trade Watch - Maxbone
I do not believe for a second that Lou is coming to Edmonton.
Now onto the game...
The trolls are out in full force of course. That was probably one of the worst periods of hockey I've seen. The PK is to blame for the whoel mess. It was non existent. Once the Oil were down they got sloppy and lost every puck battle and race. They all lost their coverage, not just the D. Smid and Petry were Bad. Whitney was Bad.
But that all being said. Hall and RNH were still a plus 1 on the night. So much for them being bad defensively. On a 6-3 beating Gags is -2 and most of the rest are even or -1. I really hope this is a learning for the Oilers. The Sharks looked VERY good in the First. If Edmonton cant stay out of the box. They are in trouble.
And how is there no mention of MPS? He was flying out there.
