Good luck trying to convince Luongo (and Luongo's wife) to go to Edmonton.. There is no chance that mystery team is Edmonton.

1) It is probably completely fabricated. Gillis doing exactly what other teams fans hated about Burke.

2) If in the smallest chance it isn't, it is much more likely that the team no one has talked about is Washington or Tampa.

Guess its not the Spengler cup anymore...

Actually, please do go over the 1700+ comments and show me where Leafs fans have held such a high expectation of either of them...other than them being blue-chip prospects.

the only thing that i've every heard from oiler fans about schultz is that he has a good chance at winning the calder (which at this point is true), and that he's probably the best offensive d-man on their team (which is also true). the only person who's said anything crazy about schultz's potential is cloutier, and aside from being the biggest oiler homer on earth, he's also doing it for hits.

now as for reilly and gardiner. i read SEVERAL posts from leaf fans saying that reilly was clearly the most talented player in last years draft, and should have gone 1st overall. that he's NHL ready now, and would compete for the calder (this was before he was sent back to jr). i also read several posts last year, during the whole nash trade fiasco, that leaf fans didn't want to trade gardiner for nash, he was gonna be a franchise d-man, etc, etc. how is that any different from what oiler fans say about schultz. NOBODY ever said he was the next coffey, just that he has high-end potential, and that he was lights out in the AHL, all of which is true.

Richard, Schultz CAN'T have much to learn. You led me to believe that Schultz was already an all-world player, as he dominated players who aren't NHl caliber all fall/winter long. I mean, obviously he doesn't have the stats against a top rookie like Patrick Wiercioch, but he should still be Norris caliber by early February, right?

oh, i agree that it's too early, but it's obvious that schultz is a pre/early season favorite.

tarasenko is disgusting though......st louis drafted him with the pick they got from ottawa

well.. no.. think i was drunk and i rambled on in a negative light about albertans. Some guy did say something to me that i didn't appreciate tho, and i was having a rough day in the oil patch.. I deserved a ban but a month was a little steep.

I doubt he's overrated.. If he is still rated #5 in that draft. I watched him play here and people in the crowd were amazed at how good he is. Rielly is going to be a top pairing defenceman in the league someday.
