I think the one team that scenario works with is the Isles. It's unfortunate for us that they don't have any NHL proven guys that are demanded out that could help us.

Although Lubo in for Whitney probably helps us

I would do that one again!

the prob is defence imo... dubs has 40 games to proove what he is and the oilers will decide if he is a nhl goalie or a load of garbage.

I said this before and i'll say it again. big teams win games. Look at all the teams in the playoffs the past couple seasons. The small forwards lose all the battles in the corners and on the boards.

They are going to get pushed out of their own barn every night. WTF was PRV doing on the 4th... send him down and play hordi when earger can't go in. Petrell is useless unless he's going to hit and play tough. we have the smallest top 9 and softest top 9 to ever play in the nhl. I hate to say it but Fistric isn't gonna do much. He's one guy.

Smyth needs to be replaced... I'd make him a healthy scratch when Jones is back. and possibly look at getting another ben eager type of player and take out petrel for the 4th line RW.

I can also see Whitney not being resigned or dumped at the deadline.

Should've fired Renney last year, had Krueger as interim coach so the players could've learned his system.

I'm questioning whether Yak should play with Hemsky. Yak is trying to figure the NHL out, but having to figure out Hemsky is a (frank)ing nightmare for anybody let alone a rookie.

- Lahey

Hemsky is too used to circling the offensive zone looking for a tap in... he's not very good at making moves while stopping and starting, which is what he'll need to learn if he's gonna be feeding Yak one-timers unless he expects Yak to circle the opposite side of Hemsky's circle... and that would just get embarassing

Why would you want a void on the 4th line playing Hordisuck when you can play Paajarvi whose clearly the better player and actually has a future in his career? He should switch with Harti anyways, whose not really a fit with Horc and Smyth. Smyth is a better player than Jones and much better than Ben Eager or a ben eager type. We don't have a lot of forwards who can play defense, Smyth is one of the few. not Eager and Jones is meh at best in his own end.

Didn't he have a history of them? I'm not a fan of his play (see above) but that really sucks for him. too bad.

There are some documented ones, and who knows how many undocumented ones. I thought if healthy he could really help this year, but there is nothing left to really hope for.

we need tougness somewhere... Hordichuk is a better player than macintyre was. if you were at the game and saw jumbo joe slashing PRV and laughing and shoving him off the face off... kinda embarissing if you ask me. Hordi can bang and cause havic and piss of the opposition. PRV cant for check to save his life. Jones is better suit on the oilers roster than smyth. He's more physical and can keep up. Smyth is old and cant back check any more. Eager is on the IR from wha I hear now. So i except to see hordi in the line up. The oiler = caps. soft and will eventually will make the playoffs but won't go far unless they get mean.

getz is doing next to nothing??????!

he has 4 points in 2 wins! hes worth way more than your proposed deal.
getzlaf/rnh as our 1 and 2 centers make this team formidable. he'd change the dynamic of this team completely on so many levels..overnight

and its not about gagner sucking. he doesnt. hes just the odd man out kinda. we have one big hole in our top 6, and its his spot. hes the weak link at this point. if we make a deal we certainly aint moving rnh or hall or ebs or yaks or hemsky (hes been playing great)
he just doesnt seem to have the game to create time and space for yaqks or hemmer. and hes is small/
he battles his heart out though..

i dunno, its early. but if someones going. i can bet its him

- hugefemale dog77

No, no. You get me wrong. The next to nothing was sarcasm which I really got to stop doing on here. It is hard to come out unless people know he has 4 points in 2 games.

I am serisous that Getz could get moved and not for the people I am talking about alone. We are not talking about trading for Getz. We are talking about trading for Anahiem having something rather than nothing for Getz at the end of the year. That is a different price. It is not full value. Full value for him would take an untouchable player. Rental of him would not. If he agrees to sign with us long term we sign him as a rental player for the year and extend his contract. This saves Anahiem getting nothing for him. In the off season when teams get to part with huge contracts and also have to shave salaries, who knows what type of players will be there for trade or pickup and what their value will be as former greats seek solid positions elsewhere.

If you are Anahiem, when do you trade? Do you risk he gets injured again? Do we risk Hemsky does, as much as we like him right now? If your Tambellini with the old Hemsky finally back do you trade him now while his value is up? Could he be an asset used to acquire a center man?

Hodri doesn't bring all that much though. Granted he might've been able to spark the team yesterday after the 4th or 5th or heck even 6th goal, but he isn't going to magically make this a tougher team to play against.
