Turris is a 3rd liner. BUST. Tarasenko is already looking like a 1st liner while playing 3rd line minutes on a strong team.

1. it was speculation that nino said that. Katie strang is a ranger's homer who didnt do her research before posting. It turns out ninos agent recommended it, which is quite common for European Agents.
2. Nino is doing well in the AHL. Last year he played with cones for line mates with 6 minutes a game. in 2010 in 9 games with doug weight as his linemate he managed 2pts compared to last years 1 pt in 55 games. I wouldnt trade nino

- Danformo

What the Islanders did to him last season was wrong, at the same time, there should've been some loophole where he was allowed to play in the AHL, or they should've sent him home to the SEL or back to Portaland. Either way, he just turned 20 in September, he's still got a ton of upside.

i think nino's trade value has taken quite a hit. the fact that he's flat out said he wants out of long island, added to the fact that he has 3 pts in 65 nhl games, leads me to believe that even though he may still be a bluechip prospect, his trade value is probably not equal to that of a bluechip prospect.
- sensarmy_11

The problem is Nino has a skill set that every team is looking for. Kassian had proven nothing, but the Nucks gave up Hodgson. Granted Kassian didn't demand a trade, it still showed that teams are willing to pay for that type of player.

There will be some GM out there that will pay a pretty penny for Nino. Unfortunate for Snow that Burke was fired though

"Oh no, no one reacted to my Dubnyk post a couple of pages back. Better step up my game."

You seem to be trying to get Cloutier's goat. wouldn't you be better served to PM him?

- Morris

Too lazy for that. Ill just take shots at him here. Half the stuff i say i don't even mean. But i hate your blogger who put my Leafs down on every blog it seems. Too bad the Leafs bloggers don't take shots at anyone. Because I am sure Oilers fans would be upset if our blogger did that in every blog they write.

What Nino is doing is not much different than Turris did if you ask me. so what did turris cost in a trade?

A 2nd round pick and Rundblad.....

- mykokes

in roughly 120-130 games in phx, turris had around 50 pts (i'm guesstimating, but it's pretty close). which is 0.4 pts/game

in 65 games, nino had 3 pts. that is 0.04 pts/game

that's TEN TIMES more productive

Guess who the Sens gm traded to St. Louis to get the overrated Swede prospect? Their first round pick...which turned out to be Vladimir Tarasenko. Potential elite winger who is already lighting it up. Blues with a steal.
- Allstarzz

Russian factor right there. It was said a long time ago. Just like Kuznetsov, if they weren't Russian they go a lot higher.

Not sure where you were going with this, Burke made one bad trade as the Leafs gm, for a guy who finished 6 in the league in scoring......I wouldn't call out his trading, I'd call out his retarded free agent signings.

Yes i know that. But even with the Russian factor Tarasenko is a potential superstar. Turris? Looking like a bust.

he had 30 pts in 50 games with ottawa last year, and in 2 games this year, he has 3 goals (same amount as tarasenko)

i understand that leaf fans are bitter that they didn't get him, seeing as he'd EASILY be the best center on their team....but you REALLY need to rethink your definition of bust.

And how much ice time was Turris getting? Sure as hell wasn't the poop Nino was getting. Let me ask you, have you seen Nino play either in the WHL or the AHL? or do you typically write-off 18 year olds who get 5 minutes of ice time at the NHL level playing with plugs? This isn't about math man, and btw, I have no issues with Turris. I think he was a great acquisition by the sens for Rundblad and a 2nd. My point is, Nino has done nothing to diminish his value except not arrive in the NHL at 19 years of age.

Oh so how did Turris do in his rookie year? Did he light it up like Tarasenko is doing so far? And Bozak has put up better number last I checked. Superstar for a 3rd line center. Ok.

Oh Rundblad? Yeah, I told sens fans that Cowen would be the better player in the end. The SEL ain't what it used to be. THought you were talking about Nino. You were referring who the Sens traded for Turris. My bad.

actually, if you bothered to look, turris played most of his career in phx on the 3rd and 4th line.

also, last time i checked, nino is 20, not 18.

and i didn't say he was worthless, i said that he probably doesn't have the value that you would expect out of a bluechip, 5th overall pick.

honestly, how much would you give up for him?

Burke loves guys like El Nino, he would've tried real hard to get him. That's all.

Plus given that he would've been on the hot seat who knows what he would've done. I guess it's probably a good thing he got fired.

Ottawa chose not to sign him over Redden. Besides not like anyone wants to play in Ottawa. Superstar Heatley would attest to that. lol
