I think if you state you want to be traded and find that over several months no one really wants to pay much for you - you either stay where you are or you take pretty much take what you can get... I bet if Lou is approached and Edm was the team offering Gillis- he (frank)ing takes it and runs... cause I am sure he is sick of the proposals and questions - and it must be a tad weird in the locker room of Vancouver too.. - saskoil21
Maybe. But according to Canucks fans this morning, Eberle would have to be the return, for Luo and Kassian. So, whether Luo waives his NTC or not, is irrelevant. Tambellini will have to agree to trade Eberle first.

is that all, they wouldn't have to throw in RNH too? seems like a good deal for edmonton. |

Kassian is a terrible player... He has hands of Horcoff. |

It is possible that Kassian will be the next Bertuzzi or Horton... but very likely that he will be yet another in a long and indistinguishable series of fridges on skates.
Talk about making the Hodgson deal look even worse in retrospect - would be pretty nice to have depth at Center, wouldn't it?

i would tend to agree. i wouldn't give up Dubinsky for a goalie unless it's for a bonafide starter, and even then... - Jack-artist
Bobrovsky has played well so far this season. I doubt the BJ's are looking for a goalie. |

Hmmm. What do:
Dubnyk
Cam Ward
Schnieder
Quick
Lundqvist
Kipper
Mike Smith
Braden Holtby
all have in common?
They've all crapped the bed at least once already. (With most of them getting pulled as well)
Relax folks. It's just week one!
There has been alot of uneven play all over the league.
I think we will need a little bigger sample size before we can start writing any of these guys off. Yes, even Dubnyk.

Good pt but in half a season you cant wait for a large sample as if you do its too late.... I think if you are looking to dump assets this is a good year to consider doing so as people will press the panic button alot sooner and be more desperate |

For VAN to pry Eberle out of EDM... EDM wouldn't even talk about Luongo, VAN would have to give up Schnieder, Edler, and Gaunce. |

pretty sure these guys have earned a pass, and there is zero question marks about their ability........but i get your point, and it's valid.
if there are already big question marks surrounding a goalie, and THEN he craps the bed, obviously it's just gonna make things worse. |

still probably wouldn't do that if im' edmonton. i don't follow your team that closely, but i'm confident that eberle is your best player, and almost surely the future captain of your team. if i'm edmonton, there isn't a deal to be made for eberle, unless i'm getting back a player of his pedigree |

I didn't even bother reading the comments because I'm sure even edm fans agree that if a team that is desperate for a number one goalie doesn't want Dubnyk, why would a team trade anything significant for him. He is a back up on a good team and possibly even poor teams. no more than a 2nd round pick from a team that thinks he could help the back-up slot. sorry. I hate how I always sound negative. That being said, the trade of gagner and a pick (2nd or 3rd) for luongo sounds legit. works for both sides. My suggestion... offer on Benn (you guys can give up the comp. it would be the second highest before the 4 1sts) trade gagner and a prospect (PVR?) to Van. sign arnott. If Dallas matches, you go with arnott and horcoff tandom for 2nd and try to draft or trade for the him next year. |

if the oil were in fact interested in the lu/gags deal, they would unload dubs for anything. im sure theyd love a deal where they add something and get something of value in return, ( a big 2C) but if not theyd take just a pick. its just about getting the cash off the books |

fair enough. dudes a kid and a norris winner already.
i think both of these guys mean more than just great hockey players to their respective franchises |

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but there are a lot of comments....
Couts mentioned he liked the idea of acquiring Ben Bishop. What would the Oilers be willing to give up? |
