True, but they also usually fall off down the stretch. So, hopefully games 6-48 go well (I assume Van will be a loss at least).
And then, no stretch fail!

If it's not I can only imagine their fans...

Wouldn't mind seeing Nino on the Ducks someday. Flames arent the only team with a swiss connection. I just hope the Isles don't screw his development like they seemed to to with Bailey

I don't know what they'd take, unless they want Babchuk and maybe Jones.
Flames suck. I was wrong.

j/k. Kipper starts slow every yr (though he is having an especially rough beginning this yr). Iginla starts slow. Too bad they got their first 5 of 6 at home.

its two games? how is that especially rough?

He'll turn it around, but the D needs to help out

I hate the fact Baertschi was playing on a line with Stajan today. If anything they should try:

Baertschi Backlund Iggy

Tangs Cammy GlenX

Taking Baert away from Backlund this quick is a mistake IMO.

That's the problem. They're trying not to ruin him but Nino is crying down in the AHL because he is actually having a good year. He was rushed last year and it showed. The Isles get killed for a lot of stupid things they do and rightfully so, but now they are doing the right thing with this kid and he is crying like a twat.

I agree but Snow should've of at least invited the kid to the camp. Send him down after but to not invite him was ridiculous.

wow is every flames fan desperate or what...doubt this kid would want to go to a sinking ship like the flames, might as well stay on long island...He would more likely do what j. schultz did and chose edmonton over 29 other teams in the league...
- oil90

free pop and xbox in the locker after the game with all the other children would be my guess...

So I can't type Hall of Famer Richard Duff's name on HB but TWAT is allowed?

If it was a real camp then yes, but their camp was literally a couple of days of practice. They kept a lot of their good prospects who are in the AHL and not one of them cried or complained. If this was a real camp then you would have seen all their young kids attending.

But so was EVERY teams... I don't know of too many teams that left their "prospects" on the farm...

Brett Connolly in Tampa.

He didn't whine about it, said he was disappointed but he understood it's better long term. That's how you go about doing things.

I don't see what the big deal is. Having them play a couple of games in the AHL over a couple of days of practice makes sense to me. Like I said he comes off as a crybaby and hasn't earned anything yet. He was so far out of place last year it wasn't funny. Let him grow his game down there and he'll be up in no time. Not a big deal IMO

I'm saying that Nino is acting like a whiny little b i t c h but he should've been invited to camp.

have you seen most "kids" these days? I bet he's bummed when practice takes away from his X-Box time... if he's such a baby-send him here...

Ducks sent Etem back down this year after camp, and Holland could end up in Norfolk again. Both were expected by Ducks fans to make the team this season.

But it is rare to see a team play a prospect in the NHL for a season (or most of one) and then send him down to the minors without even a camp invite the next season like the Isle did with Nino.

I'd like to see that line, but want backland/beart to bank some more 2nd line minutes to build confidence still.

they're stuck with cammy or tanguay as the first line centre. Moving stajan up means that a 2nd player moves down, that doesn't deserve to move down. Of the top six, cammy is the one that performance wise should move down but thats ridiculous.

too many 2nd line scorers on the team now. GlenX is the best fit for a 3rd line, but right now he's the hot hand. I'm worried about how much toughness the flame lose once hurdler/cervenka are back. Luckily we play edmonton and vancouver alot this year.

As I stated earlier Cammy is persona non gratta... he's invisible... Hopefully thats just adjusting to the new whistle from his missing front teeth but I'm fine with dropping him down this early...

Any news from the Crevenka front (or the Hudler front for that matter?)

Anybody know if Cervenka is any good in the face-off circle?
