Oh, it's not just VANTEL. The response from another Canucks fan.

So, they need to toss in a 2nd or 3rd.

I actually think Habs fans can feel quite good about this. The long fabled “Ryder, Halak, and a second” trade landing any prospect/player in the league has now been usurped. The stupidest trade rumours in the history of hockeybuzz have been replaced with “Luongo, Kassian, and a second” for just about anything they want. Congrats VANTEL and Fosco. You’ve really raised the bar.

I think we should get Boinker's take. That can only make things more interesting. Given that Kassian is a Nucks prospect, I can only imagine he feels that he's the best power forward in the league, will go down in the annals of NHL history as the best ever, and Edmonton should probably throw in Hall. Maybe Yakupov. If not, then definitely a first.

Most fans understand that the Canucks will not receive a star player back. Like it or not, the contract is a huge issue. No Eberle, No Benn, no Grudbranson (I know he's still a youngling, but not going to happen), no Pavelski, no Sean Couturier, no O'Reilly...etc. They are most likely going to get a depth player (someone who can fill in on the 2nd line), and a contract to take back which hopefully expires at the end of the year or next.

ARE YOU (frank)IN' KIDDING!?!?!

Go look at YOUR posts! YOU were the one trashing the Leafs every third line of your posts before I said anything along the lines of "Your team will suck"

I'm just playing the game and following suit.

So do you deny anything I said about the Sedins being older? Kesler dealing with off-season surgery every year? The Canucks' prospect pool? The fact that the NE is getting tougher? Is anything I've said here untrue?

Now you're on to personal attacks... GO (frank) YOURSELF!!

You're right, Vancouver's team won't be the same, it will be sh1ttier.

The depth at forward and goalie will be less. The Sedins are a year older and now past their prime. Kesler's annually rebuilt body can't last. The Canucks prospects pool isn't that deep. Next seasons Canucks roster will be littered with league min. players. The Northeast division is getting tougher and tougher etc etc etc Do you or can you deny anything I've just said? No.

VANCOUVER'S WINDOW TO WIN THE CUP HAS CLOSED!

Okay you said the team will be sh!!tier....AKA the team will suck.....pretty much same thing. Go get a quote from me saying the Leafs suck....you wont find one from me buddy. You are delusional !! Look at the posts before you talk smack homoboy.

The Sedins are 32 years old and and are still great players. If you're saying their best years are behind them I will disagree. I think they have two more before they start to tail off. Kesler is 27, and the way he plays he gets injured. He also comes back too early almost every time, the Canucks need to pull the reins back a little more.

The depth at goalie will be less??? Do ya think so??? We have Schneider/Luongo ....thanks for pointing out the obvious. Lack will be a very good backup next year.

Its not the Northeast division its the Northwest they play in. Yes it is getting tougher around them but we have a team that can challenge any of those teams.

Their team will ABSOLUTELY NOT be filled with league minumum players next year I will guarantee it. They will have a few prospects make the team, and they dont need to be the greatest of players since the core is still there. See the map below that RealityChecker put out there .....thats pretty much a realistic look at the roster.

Heres a little excercise for you......read...no no no......read!! and then reply. Read !!! and then reply.....dont make knee jerked assumptions on what you think you know.

1) sedin sedin burrows - 16.7
2) booth kesler kassian - 10.1
3) hansen ======> need to re-sign lappierre and higgins who are making 1.0 and 1.9 respectively - don't see much of a raise if at all for either -- let's say they re-sign or other comparable players are signed for 3.5m so 3rd line is - 4.85
4) jensen schroeder and another 1m banger - 3m

forwards = 34.65

bieksa hamhuis - 9.1
edler garrison - 9.6
tanev + 1m #6dman - 2

d= 20.7

goalies
schneider lack - 4.75

that's a total of 60.1. leaves 4.4m to sign 3 players (or leaves 4.4m to absorb in money coming back from a luongo trade).

also contingent on a ballard buyout.

At some point I'd have to think Tampa enters the fray. Lindback clearly isn't the answer and is struggling mightily.
