Worked great in the days b4 the dreaded salary cap. You know if we got rid of the weak market teams like Columbus & Phoenix, we probably wouldn't need the cap & we could get back to the fun way hockey use to be.

The chance Regier took and the chance Burke took are differentiated by 4 years, so they are far from comparable. Burke took a chance, Regier made a commitment.

Ya the Sabres honestly look good. They seem to have their poop together this year & very early on. Only way to go if u wanna be a lock for the playoffs especialyy in a short season.

Obviously as fans were pretty excited to see them show some b@lls and stand for their mates I just hope it continues all the way through the season. The Ott deal seems to be a good one so far and it appears he has rubbed off (insert masturbation joke) on some of the other guys who were pretty much life less the last couple seasons. Just seeing Stafford take on Hartnell really shows us something and has more of an effect on the team than a guy like John Scott dropping the mits. Lots of games to play but if Miller can keep shutting the door we may see some spring games in Buffalo.

Nope, I don’t own the team so it truly has no effect on me in the real world. Sure I’m a fan and I will agree that there are some emotional ties there but to take a deal made by the GM of my local hockey club personally makes no sense. Those deals that are made on July 1 are always a risk and as much as I agree that throwing money around like a drunken sailor is not good business I also think teams are always going to over pay to try to improve on the pervious season.
