Gillis says the Leafs were using the media to influence him to lower the price, and now he is using the media to raise the price. What a hypocritical dbag.

He signed every player we have to discounts enabling us to afford players like Hamhuis and Booth. He created a culture here were players wanna play. He didn't trade Schneider and is one intelligent man. The Canucks will be at the top of the west for a long, long time.
- Boinker

You guys are absolutely screwed on the cap.

He's toying with the media to trade his 'top end goalie'.. Because after he signed edler.. He was absolutely (frank)ed on the cap. He traded your next best player for a few steps up from a pylon. He's done to the Canucks what talon did in Chicago, except.. Talon had a cup to show for it. You guys are headed back to the bottom with nothing.

Gillis is god.

Using logic doesn't make it funny... Reading names like Benn, Couturier, O'Reilly and Gagner for Luongo makes it funny.
- PatC80

Van aint getting Benn, Couturier or O'Reilly for Lu.

The Edler signing made sense. Was a good one. The Garrison signing though? Wtf was that?

Your team gets pushed around, how would Malone be of negative value?

How many flash in the pan goalies have there been over the last six years.... They come and go, come and go, come and go and everybody seems to forget Luongo is always in the discussion and the only ones that stay in the discussion are Lundqvist, Rinne and Luongo. Those are top end goalies...not the Mike Smiths, Elliots, Bryzs and etc

Boinker is Gillis

- PatC80

I'm thinking more along the lines of Boinker is Robert John Bardo.

I cannot see how this would be an upgrade for the Flyers if they have to include anything off of there roster. Lu is not that much better than Bryz. If the Flyers give up a 3rd rounder and find a way to trade Bryz without having to pay some of his salary or include draft picks I would do it.

My pick is Minnesota. Backstrom could be moved pretty easily with only 1-year remaining. He costs more towards the cap than Lu. Also, no one has mentioned them tied to Lu.

- mickel25

The Flyers can keep Bryz for the rest of the season and then buy him out...

There is no scenario where Luongo comes to TO.. Nonis said he is not trading any future for an older vet (clearly talking about Luongo).. Gillis not about to take the leafs castoffs... The store is closed move on from Toronto
- Popcorn Kid

Exactly...media hyped this so much and there was, from what I understand, little truth to it.

Gillis is full of s-h-i-t!

There's only 4 destinations for Luongo. Toronto,Florida,Tampa Bay or Chicago.

2 of those teams can't afford him and there's no way in hell they're going to trade to the blackhawks. Luongo is a distraction no matter where he goes now because of the high expectations of his contract.

Phillys not gonna buyout one long deal to get another. Washington isn't going to stunt the development of Holtby. San Jose? OTTAWA? wow...

This is becoming ridiculous now. Just take a deal and get it over with!

- t_leafs21

Still, Gillis insisted on kadri and bozak.. Neither of them will be traded.. Maybe Komisarek, Connolly?

Not possible. Schneider is better, younger and cheaper. Gillis has to do whatever it takes to get the best deal for Luongo.
- Boinker

How does that work? I thought luongo was a 'top end goalie'? Has Schneider even played half a season of NHL hockey? Do you guys even know what you have in him with a full NHL schedule on the line?

Why risk all that when you already have a 'top end goalie'?

The problem is you guys don't have believe the bullpoop you're trying to cram down everyone else's throats

Luongo holds more value than Vinny. So They;d have to throw in a high end prospect as well. Luongo is the better player right now and is on a better contract.
- Boinker

Could this be the reason that Connelly was sent back to the minors?

Schneider isn;t proven over a full season, you're right. But I'm evaluating with my eyes. Schneider is better technically and mentally. I have no reason to believe he couldn't handle a full season.

HMMM you might be a genius if this was the case. Wow Minnesota makes sense. They spent a fortune to get Parise & Suter. There time to win the cup is now. Lu might be the perfect fit. Hmmm this is making more sense the more I think of it. Backstrom could be the player needed to be moved b4 a deal is done. Aswell, no one even had Minnie in the running for Lu.

My bet is on Washington the more I think about it, he's their missing piece. Lu, as has been reported, won't go to Toronto, doesn't want to play for a lottery team.

I agree. So if they traded for LU it would just be a different name and they would lose an asset. Does not make sense to me. The Flyers need help on D before they should do anything in goal.

When did I say all teams. Theres probably 3-6 and they're anyone's guess. If the Cancuks didn;t have Luongo or Schneider and had mediocre goaltending for the ebst few years, I would care less about his contract.

#Stars #Flyers #Avalanche #Oilers all contacted #Canucks regarding Luongo, Main piece for each team, Benn, Couturier, O'Reilly, Gagner...

- PatC80

OK, I will play along ... Dallas makes no sense. It has a better goalie under contract than Luongo and why trade Benn for him?

Gagner doesn't help Vancouver at all, so that makes no sense.

If Philly is offering Couturier, I'd do that one in a heartbeat.

Colorado - I wouldn't trade O'Reilly for him - even if he isn't signed.
