Issue is keeping his 4.5mil salary and ego on the team long term...not with his ability to be a backup goalie...I think the team made some sort of promise to him and needs to break it. Just a thought.

If Lou does go to NYI and they have to take Dipietro back then the price in terms of talent going to Vancouver increases substantially.

I legitimately don't think Lou is worth entirely more than dipietro in that situation. Depends on the islanders scenario. Isn't luongo actually signed longer? I am enjoying a situation where its actually finally debateable where luongos contract is actually the worst.

That's pretty much the deal that needs to be found. Luongo is clearly the Better goaltender... Luongo + Raymond for dipietro + neidereiter is a deal. Luongo goes somewhere and saves face.. Canucks was their hands and somehow get a great young player out of it.

It's one of those deals. Vancouver doesn't get poop from luongo unless there's somehow some sidestepping, and Vancouver eating some salary.
