Of course my favorite years were when the Leafs had Shutt and Lafluer. Those were great Leaf Cups.

Ya I'm new but I've been reading this site for years (from work) so i never bothered to sign up til today...Beatle John is right. If you want to compare Tor to Van you should start when Van joined the league. Do that and there is no comparison as to which franchise has been more successful.

Tor has won some cups but they should only be mentioned when comparing Tor with other original 6 teams...apples to apples.

You have struck on only fact here. As a Canuck fan, I can appreciate the Penguins, Oilers, Red Wings and even Boston, Chicago and Philly and yes.. Anaheim and Los Angles.

I have to accept that they won because .... they won.

I respect the Montreal Maroons only as a case study in history.

Toronto fans here refuse to see this... and worse, then refuse to see that by their own logic.... Montreal kicks their ass worse than Toronto could kick Vancouver's IF Vancouver's was there to begin with.

i have never really thought about signing up before but holy poop it was frustrating reading about friggin cups the leafs won in a 6 team league before the nucks exisited...I'm pretty sure the canucks would've won a cup or two if they were an original team, but really who gives a crap...most of us weren't born.

I think you have hit upon the truth. Leafs - now respectabe since they got rid of GM and Coach. Leaf fans... not so much. Maybe they shoudl spend more time coordinating PMs with each other.
