He signed every player we have to discounts enabling us to afford players like Hamhuis and Booth. He created a culture here were players wanna play. He didn't trade Schneider and is one intelligent man. The Canucks will be at the top of the west for a long, long time.

No a great Job is what Dale Tallon has done for both Chicago and Florida thats a great job. Gillis was practically given everything he has right now. Im not saying he's a bad gm because he's not but to say he's one of the best is not correct either.

Gagner doesn't help our team. Maybe for two weeks but as soon as Kesler's back, there's no use. You think we'd trade a premier goalie to a division rival for a 3rd line center? You're f ing crazy. How many top end goalies get traded for one and two how often within the division. We'd be expecting a ransom from Edmonton...that;s why he's not going there.

You're problem lies in the phrase 'top end goalie'

Last all star game? 2009. 4 years ago. What has he done since that was relevant? Blow it in the finals? Or blow it in the first round?

Even if he was somehow considered a 'top end goalie', his contract makes that tag irrelevant.

No one thinks he's of any importance outside of Vancouver. None. You guys should keep him, seriously. You'd get a far better deal out of trading Schneider.

The Avs have the ability to make it happen but I can't see them taking on that salary. Not for that long a period of time. Doesn't make sense.

The Oil are an interesting option but I just don't think they will the trigger. Definetely a team to watch but with all those RFA's coming up in a couple years can you really re-sign them all with Lou's contract there?

The Stars have Kari signed for the next 5 years at more then Lou and the Flyers are stuck with the nut job of a tender.

Just don't see how it would work.

Using logic doesn't make it funny... Reading names like Benn, Couturier, O'Reilly and Gagner for Luongo makes it funny.

I cannot see how this would be an upgrade for the Flyers if they have to include anything off of there roster. Lu is not that much better than Bryz. If the Flyers give up a 3rd rounder and find a way to trade Bryz without having to pay some of his salary or include draft picks I would do it.

My pick is Minnesota. Backstrom could be moved pretty easily with only 1-year remaining. He costs more towards the cap than Lu. Also, no one has mentioned them tied to Lu.

How can fans from the worst ran organization in profesional sports, over the last decade, question a GM of a team that's been the best one of the best over the last four years. That's creepy........

Not possible. Schneider is better, younger and cheaper. Gillis has to do whatever it takes to get the best deal for Luongo.

Any GM could have done what gillis has done. he inherited players and resigned them. they took discounts because of the team and city not the GM.

Gillis says the Leafs were using the media to influence him to lower the price, and now he is using the media to raise the price. What a hypocritical dbag.

How many flash in the pan goalies have there been over the last six years.... They come and go, come and go, come and go and everybody seems to forget Luongo is always in the discussion and the only ones that stay in the discussion are Lundqvist, Rinne and Luongo. Those are top end goalies...not the Mike Smiths, Elliots, Bryzs and etc

YES ME TOOOOOOOOO. I'm terrified to even think what the Leafs would have to give up with what Gillis probably wants.

Hes at a disadvantage given Luongos NTC and the fact he needs this done to get under the cap next year. That and the fact the longer this drags out, he doesnt get the depth his team needs but the whole issue becomes a distraction on and off the ice.

Gillis is full of s-h-i-t!

There's only 4 destinations for Luongo. Toronto,Florida,Tampa Bay or Chicago.

2 of those teams can't afford him and there's no way in hell they're going to trade to the blackhawks. Luongo is a distraction no matter where he goes now because of the high expectations of his contract.

Phillys not gonna buyout one long deal to get another. Washington isn't going to stunt the development of Holtby. San Jose? OTTAWA? wow...

This is becoming ridiculous now. Just take a deal and get it over with!

There is no scenario where Luongo comes to TO.. Nonis said he is not trading any future for an older vet (clearly talking about Luongo).. Gillis not about to take the leafs castoffs... The store is closed move on from Toronto
