Hey listen, I know your team has been pure garbage for the past... i dont even know how long. And I understand how that would upset you. But please, don't take it on others.

You are correct. We ended our drought. What about your team? You still haven't answered my previous questions.

The whole point of winning a cup is its suppose to make you less obnoxious........ guess that memo didn't cross your desk yet........

This must be why fate will not allow the Nucks to win a cup

we can go back more than two games. you're super tandem has blown everything that could be blown in the last 3 years.

a vancouver fan suggesting why it's easy to make fun of any other franchise..

so clueless as to what a farce their own world is.

Right....Schneider blew it big time against LA last year. .960 Save percentage, 1.31 GAA - Talk about terrible. That was the reason why they lost against LA...all Schneider!

we havent ended anything, we haven't made the playoffs in 9 years.

but i would hope that if our team we're to end the drought, all of our fans wouldn't immediately turn into (frank)ing giant wieners.

i suppose even if they did, leafs fans had a spine before they won the cup. it would be a little further justified.

i'm sure you have a point in there? as in it proves anything?

how many games has schneider played in the nhl? scrivens has looked great in his handful of games to. doesn't mean he's not a (frank)ing soup can.

I seem to recall just about EVERY Canucks fan here on HB saying that "a goalie controversy WOULD NOT happen in Vancouver!" ... And TWO games later, here we are!

This whole Gillis thing REEKS of desperation.

Gillis thought he could hold out and that other GM's would cave in to this demands. Suddenly the season is upon us and the Canucks find themselves 0-1-1 after two home losses that saw Schneider getting shelled/pulled and not being unable to hold on to a third period lead. Van is without a 2nd line and NOBODY EXCEPT GILLIS is talking about trading for Lu.... Hmmmmm?... Gillis simply wants to keep the conversation going, but it appears that GMs are focused elsewhere.

Gillis is now resorting to manipulating the media, something he criticized and accused Toronto of NOT EVEN A WEEK AGO!!! What a (frank)in' hypocrite! What's even more funny are the Canucks fans who call(ed) Burke a "media whore" and "blow hard," but somehow Gillis is justified in doing the exact same thing here. Again, hypocrites.

No my friends, Gillis is FAR from in control of this situation and he's starting to sweat. I wonder if he is receiving pressure from Aquilini? Because all of this is very "uncharacteristic" of Gillis.

This is also about Gillis' ego, pride and public perception because GILLIS KNOWS that he has to get something of value for Luongo, otherwise he looks like a goof for signing Luongo to that ridiculous contract only a couple years ago and now needs to move him, but THROUGH THE FAULT OF HIS OWN ACTIONS, he has essentially devalued his own "All-Star" asset and appears to be overplaying his hand.

No one is biting, except Gillis... The pillow that is. Hopefully HBO picks this up.

that's the difference between you and leaf fans. you guys have grown comfortable with mediocrity. in cities outside of vancouver, chronically being on the cusp and never doing anything actually is considered as failure (in fairness, 28 other teams fail annually). we in toronto call this situation.. 12 years ago.

the two big basics that make your world a farce, is your cap situation, and your prospect pool.. no doubt. your team has 60.5 million committed for next season.. and is going to have to hand 3 young guys raises, and fill in another 5ish spots on top of that. your prospect pool is laughable at best. laughable.

where is gillis moving luongo? toronto? the team is still technically rebuilding, what do they want with a goaltender nearing the end of his prime, signed until he's 42? that's a move for a team on a championship cusp.. not one still maintaining it's young core.

philly? they have their own battle.

florida? markstrom ready to come up, theodore starting.. clemmenson there as well.

what else? winnipeg? ottawa? chicago? you guys are delusional enough to think teams with no need whatsoever are eventually going to line up to hand vancouver assets for a contract that would burden any franchise? there's so many variable's there.. and they're all negative for vancouver.

i've said it before.. i'll say it again. it would be better for your franchise to trade schneider and roll with luongo if you're still planning on working with the partially open window. but your entire fanbase needs to wake up. end of 2013 season that window starts closing.. and you'll be lucky to be rid of luongo by then.

Where did I say that getting into the playoffs was considered a success? Of course i t is a failure to not win the cup, but at least we have a chance.

I don't need to write an essay on the Luongo situation, it is quite easy to understand. We either take a contract back or we wait till the interested teams finally want to move so badly (or they need to) that they bury the contract themselves and eat it. Philly comes to mind, if Bryz keeps losing, how long until they pay to play. I think Gillis is fine playing the wait and see game.

You and I both know that next year Ballard and Luongo or Schneider will not be on the books. So, don't worry about the cap problems, it will all work out in the wash.

Our prospect pool is not that far off from TO's. Kadri not that far off from Kassian, O'Reilly not that far off from Corrado, Is frattin or Ashton better than Schroeder, Jensen, or Lack. This is all completed while actually making the playoffs regularly, while the Leafs have done this finishing bottom 10 in the league regularly.

So why the hate?

Didn't think that needed further explanation but sure, take 2. Your comment was about how bad the goaltending tandem has been in the past 3 years - as in what has already happened....I was simply pointing out how well Schneider played last year against LA...get it...It's not too difficult to understand. Nothing I said had anything to do with future play, whatsoever....

when you're openly bragging about it, it gives the contrast that you're considering it to be success. people don't typically openly promote things that are deemed average to mediocre at best.

as it stands now, you're going to need to cut salary to wipe your hands of the ending contracts.. and ice 9 forwards 5 defenceman and a goalie for 2014. they buying out ballard? that's not going to clear enough either.

you're prospect pool is a joke. you really think you have a whole lot in kassian? as opposed to hodgson? high five. rielly is not that far off from corrado? i immediately understand how this corrado thing has become such an open joke. YOU need to do some research sir. frattin is better than all 3.. ashton most likely will be as well. there's still an outside shot that colbourne will be. matt (frank)ing finn is better than corrado. get a clue man!

so on take 2.. you're going to openly stand by the idea that schneider playing well against la changes 3 years of suspect goaltending when it counts?

this shouldn't be difficult to understand. take 2 was a gift.. not an opportunity to reaffirm your same dumbass point.

if any gm trades for loungo they should be shot from a cannon. almost every fan thinks he will be bought out in the summer and then interested gm's can sign him to a more fitting contract.
