Why does Eklund keep throwing in Ottawa as a possible destination for Luongo? If anything, goaltending is the strongest part of the sens. They have a current and future goaltenders. Why on earth would they want Luongo.

Gillis is feeling the pressure! Two games in and there is obviously a distraction in the room. I realize that Van is a good team and will get it together, but with a season this short they don't have time or games to throw out the window! Like Sedin said at the opening games ceremony, this will be a year to remember! For the wrong reasons I think. |

Just throwing this out there:
If Flyers need to unload Bryz to deal for Luongo, and it is true Toronto is willing to take on Luo's contract, but not really deal for him.... What if Toronto got incentive and took on Bryz's contract instead?
What else would we want in return for taking on Bryz's 7 more years at 5.7 per year? Something like Reimer, Liles , Maccarthur + (Ashton/Colborne/Frattin)
for Wayne Simmonds and taking on Ilya Bryzgalov.
Flyers give up a blue chipper in Simmonds but are now free to turn around and deal for Luongo.
Probably end up in some sort of 3 way deal, with Reimer, and Liles and a leafs prospect, plus more from the Flyers moving on to Vancouver in exchange for Luongo. Maccarthur replacing Simmonds (sort of) as a top 6 winger.
As a leaf fan I'm not interested in Bryz anymore than I am Luongo, but if we got back a quality top 6 forward with size/skill.....
If I'm a Flyers fan I hate this, but if it's true they are willing to meet Gillis demands, with the only issue being unloading Bryz's contract, then maybe it works? |

if things we're all fine and peachy with his luongo situation, he wouldn't have the need to be trying to create an arms race in the media.
wake up. |

no, he'll just settle for a bad deal that does nothing to help the team. We're all fine with that. |

If you are going to write stuff like this, can't we at least get a #1 centre as a key component to the fantasy trade? |

Gillis can't trade Luongo until Schnieder puts together a couple of decent games. |

the leafs may not be able to help them with their luongo situation.. but maybe we can throw all that aside and still do them a favour.
