You're not talking hockey - you are puffing out your chest and professing your mad love for all things Canucks.
You want to talk hockey? Great.
Quit telling fans of 29 other teams that they are idiots for not wanting to give up superstars and 1st round draft picks for Luongo.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If Luongo hasn't been traded yet, it's a pretty good indication that either nobody wants him, or at the very least nobody is willing to give up signficant assets to get him.
And try to keep him mind: you haven't achieved anything. It's great that you cheer for the Canucks, but anyone can do that. It doesn't make you better than anyone who cheers for any other team, including the Leafs.
You're just a guy who spent too much money buying a few sweaters and hats. - Atomic Wedgie
Absolutely agreed. Gillis and the Nucks insured that his value is limited when Schneider was anointed the starter. Every team in the league knows the Nucks have to trade Lu and his contract |

You can't argue that the Canucks haven't been a successful team, back to back presidents trophy winners and a trip to the finals is pretty good in my book. - Deadmau55

Agreed. But that was done at the right time. Had they done that one or two years earlier, they may not have made the same kind of run.
My point is, when developing a team from the ground up, I think you first draft/acquire young talent, then you develop it through experience, and finally you make the 'impact' trades when you're ready to contend.
LA did it with Richards/Carter
Chicago did it with Hossa +
Anahiem did it with Pronger/Nieds. - Pen15
Oh I was agreeing with you. |

I was being sarcastic. I wouldnt do it unless my team had a cap around 90 million. |

He talks about Chicago being a player for Luongo?
I dont think that is the case with the Hawks just getting Karlsson from the Flames.
I watched him play last year here in Buffalo and that kid played one helluva game here! |

This isnt about Jeff Finger nor the leafs.....Gillies is a good GM imo and in his defense the Canucks offense is pretty banged up , probably one of the reasons why people are going saying things look bleak when on paper they actually have a good lineup able to contend for the cup. - Alexzanki
Its bleak because its an old roster, no propsects and no depth. |

haha good one. that's almost as funny as the sens not having won any stanley cups ever. - sensnucksnocups
Haha, well if you are going to dwell on 50 years ago, is 90 years ago or whatever for the Sens really any more pathetic?

Seriously this is a troll fest of a thread with leafs fans going on and on about how great their GM Nonis is and how screwed vancouver is. It's like topsy turvy world where the canucks were the ones who fired their GM and is iicing a glorified AHL team. |

How can fans from the worst ran organization in profesional sports, over the last decade, question a GM of a team that's been the best one of the best over the last four years. That's creepy........ - Boinker

If I were the leafs I wouldn't even do it not worth it I'd be going after a backup like enroth or bernier someone who might be a superstar instead of a has been |

If you get a job that pays alot of money and you are a big shot, but you are not the boss are you not successful? There are different levels of success. |

BTW Nonis was handed Luongo on a platter by Keenan, Keenan was told to acquire some assets at the lowest possible cap and term. I don't think that was a strategic or fabulous negotiation by nonis anymore than getting a lucky phone call. |

Crazy twilight zone world where one gm has screwed his team against the cap to ice a rockstar team that can't win a free 9" pizza out of the arena gumball machine. See you in 2015
