No. Nonis.

Gillis has brought none of their top talents. None. He did trade their best and only good prospect for a 3rd liner though. Ill give him that much.

Hamhuis is probably our best defenseman.

Oops, yea, I meant Nonnis.... but thanks for clearifying. I certainly know it wasn't Gillis. Who drafted Burrows?

He hasn't drafted or traded well either.
- LeftCoaster

Very true. With the exceptions of a few good pick ups Like Edler, Kesler etc., the Canucks haven't been able to draft well for a while now. Realistically, the cupboards are pretty bare.

Leafs need a goalie. No?
- Deadmau55

Why? So we can be just good enough to finish 9th?

No thanks. The leafs need to tank this year, and give themselves a shot at a few franchise players.

We are. I'm okay with that. I would've liked to see what Burke can do with this team...and I'm okay with seeing what Nonis can do now that Burke is gone.

There's no denying both of them built your franchise from the ground up...so they have the credibility and pedigree.

The two things Gillis doesn't have.

- Pen15

The Boston Bruins absolutely love Burke's Pedigree.... And I am sure that you would hate to have Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton in your line up. Nevermind Rask.

Gillis has made mistakes... the Grabner Trade was bad.... And the hodgson trade is still un decided. But he has signed many players returning or on the free agent market ( hamhuis and Garrison) to below market value. When we signed Luo to that contract there were many teams that would have given him that much or more money. Look at Bryzgalov on the open market.

I hear they're going to discuss adding a 'close, but not cigar' category to the cup at the next bog meetings though...

That'll give em something to yap about.

What the (frank) does an Orca have to do with a Canuck.

Thats what Id like to know.

Its like the Toronto Maple Leafs putting a Moose on their jersey.

Why in hell would the Senators want this goalie? They already have one solid veteran (Anderson) and two excellent prospects, including a stud in waiting, who are both pretty much ready.
- kwolf68

Agreed. No chance they're in on him.

Orca bay was the ownership group when they changed the jersey to that. We have a lot of Orcas on our coast...makes somewhat sense.

How does gillis do it? He's got you guys just swinging off his balls..

Trust me, garrison was not signed below market value. You're high.

The Hodgsin trade is not undecided either. You guys got pumped on that one.

The Rask deal wasn't Burke. But thanks for playing.

And since when is Garrison below market value? 1 decent year and he's worth that contract?! You Nucks fans are out to lunch with your valuations!

Then why even bother playing this season? Or next? If that's your thought process.. You get into the playoffs, you have a shot.

Thats not a door, thats a wall. But hey, keep knocking.

Yes, my second youngest team in the league Leafs do have a future. Too bad the Canucks dont have a past or a future. At least Toronto has something, and something is always better than nothing.

What goofy thing are you going to say next?

Toronto hasn't had anything since before HD TV ... What Like 20 years ago.... WOW your Gm's must have really Pooped the bed.

What he means is that the team be patient and dont sacrifice picks and youth to try and go for anything right now. If the team makes it, they make it, just dont sell your leg to help you win a race.

But you have a better shot with high end draft picks that you've developed over the years...kind of like LA did with Quick, Kopitar, Doughty, Brown, etc.

EDIT: How many of those guys were traded away from LA for a quick fix of JUST making the playoffs?
