Schroeder between Raymond and Weise at practice.
AV is a moron, setting up another young player for failure. - Scooby_Doo
Raymond and Weise at least have been playing fairly well and were playing in Europe while everyone else was training on their own. It's not a horrible plan, and I'll bet he replaces Weise with Kassian on that line soon enough which actually had chemistry in training camp. |

It's like AV is being reluctant after being forced to dress Schroeder...

Right. You're such a genius that you see what the rest of the world doesn't.
Look, there is literally nothing that Landeskog doesn't do well. Outside of points, there is nothing in the game of hockey that Nugent Hopkins does as well as Landeskog. Nothing. - prock
Sad as this is... I have to agree... Landeskog's a more complete player than RNH at this point, but RNH has a higher offensive ceiling. Landeskog looks to me like he'll be a better, less drugged out version of Mike Richards. |

I want to see it before I criticize it. It looks wierd on paper but might work. It sounded like Schroeder and Raymond had chemistry in camp and Weise has played OK in the 1st to games. Hopefully he can bang and crash and free up some space for the other 2 to work with. |

But what if he's a less injury prone Forsberg? |

I would be too. El Nino apparently had a good European stint and will be quality player. I love it when players have the balls to request a trade away from organizations that might ruin their career, rather than just plod along for years. |

I'd love to see Landeskog and Eberle on a line together, who's the ideal centre? |

edit: not sent to AHL
I know his WHL career was impressive. He was a force but I honestly thought he was going to be a larger body by now,,, still there is a ton of upside to Niederreiter. |

The Islanders do tend to screw with there prospects. They don't exactly have a high success rate of development. |

They brought him in with no pro experience right out of the Dub... his numbers in the NHL are horrible.

Of current players? Anyone?
Well, Crosby or Malkin come to mind. And interesting one would be Datsyuk. A line that scores 100+ goals, with roughly about 3 against. And they were the goalie's fault. |

Kind of like CLS, the entire system seems defunct. I know people love to celebrate the draft but there are some teams out there that a young player should be concerned about being drafted by for the sake of his career. And thanks to the heavy NHL restrictions he's stuck there (by rights) for roughly 8 years. BS system if you ask me. |

Apparently he was/is having an excellent year in the AHL and was impressive in camp. I read one report that had him as the most exciting player during the short training camp, but I guess they thought he would be better in the AHL for the season than a short NHL season? |

Probably not. RNH is not very good at them, and we haven't seen enough out of Landeskog to know.
He once put the goalie pads on in junior, and got a shutout. |

You got to admit, Datsyuk in there..... A line that the other team can't get out of their own zone. They get smashed the hell out of by Landeskog. And scored on.
It would be a completely unbeatable line. |
