Personaly I am very glad you had this experience. Even if Potter hadn't read your blog fans would have and fans talk and sometimes people that matter listen. You are in a well read public media. As fun as it must be to just shoot yer mouth off with out any thought what so ever it does have reprecusions. I have heard friends quote some of your more moronic opinions as thier own and see your opinion in many peoples threads on the HF board.

I would say I generaly agree with your assesments about 75%. 25% of the time I swear you were not even watching the game and just randomly decided to throw some hate at an Oiler who does not deserve it.

Potter was one of those players you ripped on that did not even remotely deserve it. Your opinions are yours but sometimes they are so wrong it is disgusting.

Potter had a decent to good night. He was not responcible for either goals. He was out there checking people. Had good positioning and was solid passing.

Whiteny had a bad night and looked slow as hell but overall his passing was superb. Not everyone can have a perfect game and when going against the Sedins no one can truely defend that.

I would suggest from now on being more careful with some of your opinions.

I don't believe in saying to much negative without some positive. Don't change your blogs too much cause I, and everyone else who reads them, do enjoy them. Just be more careful when trashing someone's livelyhood.

Yakupov should not be playing in the NHL this year. He had a few good minuites in the season opener, but other than that he looked like a boy amongst men. He is just too immature to be an NHLr. He is lacking confidence and it shows in the way he plays. With all of the cap trouble coming in the next few years why burn a year of his entry level deal? Can the Oilers send him back to the KHL or would that burn a year of his contract still? I doubt he would go back to Sarnia.
- Oilersforlife

Nah - (frank) that. So - is he going to learn a lot more with 3 more months in the KHL this year?

He needs to develop in the NHL now - he'll be what he's going to be.

The entry level burn is always an interesting debate, it's about trade offs I suppose...
It hurts our cap sooner | Yakupov develops quicker
I get to watch Yakupov NOW | Russians get to do that

KHL time will not be beneficial to him. He did what he had to do but now he needs to re-adapt to the NA game. I didnt think he looked out of place or unconfident, just over eager and impatient. Guye like Eberle and Hemsky can teach him patience and Hall can tell him the drawbacks of impatience. Im not worried. The kid will be fine.

Regardless, hes not going anywhere.

Ya - he hung his head quite bit or looked up to the rafters after making the odd miscue which I don't mind - he has high expectations of himself - gotta be tough when you know what you want to do but the nerves take over.

Thing is, this could continue for a bit and he could really under-whelm on expectation. Still though, I think him being up and with the team is the right call and I like that he has a handful of peers along with vets who can help him along, get him to relax and maybe apply that old adage "just go out there and have fun" - this may be the cliche he'll need to hear at times.

Someone just gave me a doughnut at work.

I'm a thin wiry type but alas at 36 I've noticed a gross mini Monty Burns belly develop.

So, I've just started doing planks for the core or whatever.
Planks are fukkin hard. If I can hold that $hit for a minute soon that will be a small victory.

I am not going to pretend to be a klefbom expert. I don;t know much about him except he is a good defensive prospect, but is it too much to assume he would be in the top 7 right away? This isn't going to be a rebuild team next year that can afford to play rookies just to get them experience. They are going to be a competetive team that needs to ice the best players. Most players coming form europe to NA as rookies need seasoning in the minors. another reason to keep potter next year maybe..

I say we win tonight's game 3-2... I think Dubey is going to be a sleeper in the early success of the oil... I know I did not have much confidence back in July- but I think he is going to improve steadily all season...

Speaking of no feed back, i have never been an oilers fan. But you have single handed made me see them as a quality team. You are probably my second favorite (behind JJ) blogger on this site. I really could have cared less about the oilers but reading your blogs is fantastic keep doing what you are doing my friend. Oh and on the potter thing, twitter is a crap storm waiting to happen and is a little harder to control with re tweets and such. cant actually speak your mind like you can on here i guess hah

I switched completely away from bench exercises when I learned the overhead press - longer kinetic chain and a more useful range of motion. You are, however, spot-on with the whole mixing-it-up thing... routine is the enemy!

I like Cory Potter. He is smart, and seems to make good decisions. What I noticed from the game against Vancouver is that he needs to make the decisions a little bit quicker so he can get into the right place.

I watched him in exhibition last year in Saskatoon, and knew he would stick with the Oilers as he was easily the smartest player on the ice. He needs to understand that he doesn't have the same level of raw ability as others on the team, and get his decision making just a little bit quicker.
