this team doesnt need someone like luongo now. this is not a cup contender.. there is no sense bringing in a guy who will do nothing but clog up the system.

this team might be ready in maybe 3 or 4 years if they play well and draft and develop well.

no more quick fixes. i kind of wonder if maybe Burke was the one pushing for the quick fix now.. and Nonis and ownership were saying lets just stay the course.....

because the first moves Nonis made was to clear room for the kids to start playing. I could see this.. If Gillis has a deal on the table for Luongo he should take it. Personally: I'm not buying it. That being said I hope he does have a deal on the table and pulls the trigger...and that it isn't a deal with the Leafs. The sooner Luongo is moved off the table the sooner we can focus on what we have with Scrivens and Reimer. If we're lucky one of them will prove to be a legit keeper over the course of the season. If we're lucky in a different sort of way they will both be terrible, we'll finish low in the standings, draft high and can address our goaltending issues in the offseason. With the buyouts and the cap going down and whatnot I'm sure we'll be able to get someone if we need to (and we probably will IMO).
