I thought Orr had killed him.

No, seriously, I think he really scrambled his brain.

I haven't skimmed the Buffalo News yet, but is he OK? Any upper body injury?

It really looked great watching that giant drop to his knees.

I haven't re-watched the fight yet but from my seat, I am pretty sure Scott punched Orr in the face then fell to his knees.

Good...they have even less that they're comfortable parting with for Luongo.

gillis is getting desperate.. i think its a ploy to make nonis blink

even after going 1-1 scrivens is sporting an impressive 1.53GAA and a 0.939 SV%

now as unlikely as it is he maintains it.. its gotta be worrying gillis as he was likely banking on the leafs goalies poopting the bed right away.. if the two young goalies in toronto can put up at least respectable numbers nonis wont make a move for luongo.. he is moving vets out, not in.

Leafs would certainly win a lot of games, with tending like that all season.

You need to youtube it or hockeyfights.com ......heavy punch to the solarplex = quivers down Scott's backbone.

Great reaction from Orr after too. Whoa!!

Exactly...even if Scrivens comes down to earth by game 10, Gillis may not have that long to fix what ails the Canucks right now. Scrivens may not be a top 5 elite goalie, but he may be just what the Leafs need under Carlyle, and hell, could develop into another Hiller.

Also if you watch after the fight, Scott is buckled over skating to the penalty box.

i've been saying roll with the kids all along.. and low and behold.. where are the leafs struggling?

offense.. what a shock.. i figured defense and goaltending would improve under carlyle while the offense would suffer.. carlyle wont let them just skate all over the ice at will.

Every game that Scrivens doesn't poop the bed puts greater and greater pressure on Gillis

Played 3 minutes a night last year regardless of performance. Rips the AHL apart as the best player in Bridgeport, is told he needs to stay in the AHL for Keith Aucoin...yup

I'm not even sure what Gillis even thinks he needs ....prospects and cap space ...or is he looking for real bodies and contracts?

We should ask Scooby - he's got all the answers.

I was at the ACC so I really didn't see what happened until I got home and saw it on the hightlights.

A knock out body shot, a (frank)ing knock out body shot! Can't remember ever seeing that before. Felt good for Orr ...probably his best moment in a couple of years.

Desperate? Ek says its "well played, well played indeed" ploy to get the leafs to pay more. I'm sure it'll work.

this team doesnt need someone like luongo now. this is not a cup contender.. there is no sense bringing in a guy who will do nothing but clog up the system.

this team might be ready in maybe 3 or 4 years if they play well and draft and develop well.

no more quick fixes. i kind of wonder if maybe Burke was the one pushing for the quick fix now.. and Nonis and ownership were saying lets just stay the course.....

because the first moves Nonis made was to clear room for the kids to start playing. I could see this.. Burke telling ownership he wanted to make a certain set of moves and ownership saying no, they want to stay the course.. burke pipes up about how he is in charge and thats that and bam, next day nonis is gm.
