this is a curious notion.. subban is trying to make the habs desperate and sign him to more than they want.. the new habs GM is looking to prove he wont be pushed around

Bergevin should just say to Subban "fine, sit for the year, let me know when you're ready to talk business, and no, i'm not trading you"

bet subban signs in a big hurry then

- Dozzer

yeah u may be right.

players in montreal must be pissed at subban for not getting a deal signed and they are all playing, they could certainly use him!

Hw should sign his next / this contract for 2 years at 3 per and if he plays to the level HE thinks he is at, he can go for the big money. He is coming off like a greedy kid to me, he wants 6.5 milly per, he is nits.

Then how can you be so sure they weren't indeed very interested in him?

If it was false, surely Nonis would have said "We have no interest in Luongo, the reports are false, Gillis is a liar".

But, he didn't say that... what does that tell you?

- Pecafan Fan

My point was that he blamed the Leafs and the Toronto media for his situation and teams not wanting to pay his demands. It went over your head, you dont get it, let it go.

You're talking to me about oranges when im pointing out watermelons.

Minestra is the generic word for soup, Minestrone is an actual type of soup.
- LeafMan

i should warn you that I am a huge soup fan lol

Minestrone is a thick soup of Italian origin made with vegetables, often with the addition of pasta or rice. Common ingredients include beans, onions, celery, carrots, stock, and tomatoes.
There is no set recipe for minestrone, since it is usually made out of whatever vegetables are in season. It can be vegetarian, contain meat, or contain a meat-based broth (such as chicken stock). Angelo Pellegrini, however, argued that the base of minestrone is bean broth, and that Roman beans (also called Borlotti beans) "are the beans to use for genuine minestrone"

its a generic name for kitchen sink soup.. thats all. here in NA we think its a fancy italian name for a type of soup.. its not.

but to go back to the beginning.. italian wedding could be set under this but its a fairly specific recipe. a fact i would argue makes it NOT minestrone. some group it under minestrone but more accurately it should be called pignato grasso

ok, i should go back to work now lol

I just think it's not completely unrealistic that the leafs may have leaked some info on that potential trade in order to test the media/fan reaction. Actually, not doing it would be surprising.

I have had so many variations of Italian soup during my trips to Italy, every time I asked the family what kind it is, "it's Minestrone" never close to the same wherever I went, so basically it is one soup with hundreds of combinations, lol.
- LeafMan

Stracitella is the soup you usually get at the weddings. Egg drop soup

Maybe they did. Maybe they didnt.

But you dont sound off about it and whine to the media. Hes playing the same game every other team is, with posturing and such, but nobody is calling out the media and teams in other markets. Thats just laughable.

Minestrone is vegetarian. Like vegetable soup infused with pasta.

Italian Wedding soup has meat. Meatballs to be specific.

- systemtool

oh yes, the little meatballs with the egg drop. Forgot about those little meatballs

It's not the first time Gillis acts like that. He does come across as a bit of a (frank)ing whiner.
