Schenn could still end up being a very solid defensive Dmen. Let's not kid ourselves and ignore that he had flashes of excellence while in Toronto. - prock

Actual flashes of brilliance or just stuff out of the ordinary amidst the monotony we're used to that we simply misconstrue as flashes of brilliance?

Nonis is probably not even returning his calls right now...there are a lot of goalies that are struggling out of the gate this year, even elite ones. Teams aren't going to be coerced into a panic move by Gillis before they truly see what they have. For Vancouver, it may be too late to fix other holes that have emerged for them. - p_zub

If I were to help Gillis rid his hands of Lu I'd want Kesler coming our way too. He has a Roberts/Tucker/Clark feel to him. |

The funny thing is, a lot of Canucks fans laughed at Bozak being in the deal...turns out its exactly what they need in a 2nd/3rd line centre. He's among the league leaders in FO%, and he has a decent offensive presence as well... |

So far in this young season...
Seguin - 1pt in 2 games
Kessel - 2pt in 2 games
Discuss... - Pen15
Maybe we can swoop in and trade Kessel for Seguin since his value is low |

This is Gillis response as to what has been offered to him for Luongo
“Excess salary coming back with a [throw-in] player who can’t play in our lineup. They say, ‘OK, we’ll do this, but you’ve got to take this.’ Well, we’re not taking it. We’ve had lots of proposals like that with good pieces that can help us but the other part doesn’t help us, and oftentimes they have term attached to them, so we’d just be turning around and buying out a guy.

Funny that he's still the only GM talking about this right now...Nonis doesn't seem very interested, nor do many other GMs right now. Talking-up value, that's all... |

Lu is going to Philly.
Calling it now.
Grossman is going the other way.
Philly will buy out Bryz, and then the Leafs will sign him. |

They can. They have proven it in the past.
The problem is they faced a goalie that stone walled them last night, mixed with a more defensive minded coach. You put Luongo or Schneider in net last night and Leafs win 4-2. |
