the pens are scary, but i would play them all day instead of boston, not going off any stats here but we seem to do ok against fleury. my bold predictions for the month are we win the next 2, but then drop 3 to finish the season 1 game under .500

Pittsburgh will at least be a fun game. Wide open, lots of ice, plenty of chances.

Apart from a few 1-2 minute stretches tonight and in Montreal, these games have been snooze-fests.

And it was with the wrong guy.

The fact that Kaleta left that game on his skates and not a stretcher speaks volumes of this team's toughness. You just have to send a message once or twice. That's it. The league learns quickly what poop flies and what doesn't fly around here.

Like I said, if that's Seguin on the ice getting hit, Lucic kills Vanek and that's the end of it.

Just been getting a very AHLish type feel from this years Leaf team, play wise, not a good feeling.

I think it's an issue with heart, lack thereof. It's definitely noticeable.

Okay...

No.

He's nowhere near Brian Rafalski. Get that out of your head immediately.

Nathan Dempsey? 260 career games.

Jeff Finger? 199 career games.

Sure. He's the next Nathan Dempsey.

- Two_For_Truth

Dude, chill. I'm not overating, I said a poor man's Rafie. You do know Rafie showed up in the NHL at 27, got big minutes and ran with it. As for Finger, could Finger skate? Does Finger have anything close to Koska's offensive abilities? Are they even the same type of d? And what's wrong with the Dempsey comparison? Now if I said g UG, Kostka's a future all star, lay off him, then maybe you'd have reason to jump on my comment.

I'm not sold on Scrivens, way too nerve racking having him in goal, I think I'd rather roll with Reimer...
- ThePresident

Can't really fault Ben for this game but I know what you mean..... First goal, no chance at all but the second goal, even though it was point blank, you cannot let that puck go through you. An experienced NHL goalie would of stopped that most times or forced him to a harder shot like a top hand corner/under the crossbar type of goal. But again, it's just his inexperience and that's the stuff we will deal with this year.

It's not bad goaltending, it's just inexperienced goaltending in my opinion.

I honestly don't know what you do Wednesday. Do you throw Reimer to the wolves on Wed and see how he does? Guy hasn't played in how long. But than again, can't keep him out cause of that forever. gotta get him in there sometime

I think you've got to go back to Scrivens on Wednesday, if only because he isn't coming in cold, then give Reimer the net for the next three.

Let each show their stuff and go from there. I don't want to get back into the pattern of jerking these two around. Give each a stretch where they are the starter, for better or worse, and let the chips fall where they may.

i really dont think we will take the pens. the leafs cant even get thier supposed strength, the offense, going.

1.5 goals per game aint gonna get you very far.. especially when a rookie (well first full season) has 2 of the 3 goals.

- Dozzer

to be fair price and miller are great goalies, maybe even top 5. not saying we will beat them, just a hunch, then again i wouldn`t be surprised if we lost 6-2

I've always been on the fence for sure, and I'm of the belief that losing schenn for him will bite us.

That being said, I don't think any kind of book can be written on him until he gets some consistent top 6 minutes. Kessel wouldn't have ever become a star on years of 12 minutes a night either.

- joel878

Probably bites us, when the Flyers finish one point behind us, in the standings and get a top 5 pick, instead of us.
