Kadri is a guy who rides high and low on confidence. If he doesn't get playing time now, you might as well just kill his career as a Leaf.
- Two_For_Truth

Carlyle doesn't come off as a stupid guy. Kadri should be getting some more time.

i thought you'd be a fan of this approach.. or at least.. the results

Komisarek for Holzer?

No problem there.

But keeping Franson out of the line-up for Fraser?

No chance.

4 Centers in the top 5; no wonder Nonis has revived Tank Nation.

Been saying forever that Kadri's ceiling is Mike Ribeiro, he even plays like him. I think he can reach close to that, be a 2nd line 50-60 pt guy, maybe an odd 70+ pt season, but that's asking a lot.

Hey guys, remember that myth about 30 or so years ago with Ballard trading the entire Leafs for the Oilers? If that offer was presented right now, would you take it?
- Tee-Dot

In a second! Me and My Dad took a look at Harrold Ballards Yact from the 70`s about 5 years back. It hasnt floted in 8+Years and was rough. As in F`in wrecked. drydock at a Boat Shop in Cape Breton NS. But let me tell ya, that boat in its prime was THE BOSS. If Ballard had won any of those Cups, the Yacht would still be in the family, and I would never have seen it. True story.

Not a big fan of Komarov, don't think he'll be around too long either.
- blahman20

I'm actually liking what komarov is bringing to the table. Didn't think I would. His play in the corners seems to be turning up pucks, he's hit everything that moves.. His neutral zone play has been effective. Even made a few nice passes.

Bozak is not a bad hockey player, don't get me wrong. But he's a 200 hp engine in a car that should have a 500 hp engine......

Did you see him against Montreal? He was not quite as good tonight. Still patient with the luck though,

I absolutely do see his usefulness on a third line. His faceoff ability alone is damn good and he would chip in here and there with some offense.

But when you see him play 20 plus minutes a game on the first line you can't help but think how much he's holding back Kessel and Lupul.

Than you see the vision of a guy like Kadri and it just makes Bozak look even worse

- Sheppy99

Yeah, I see him as a 3rd line center on a good/very good team, 2nd on a bubble/good team at best. Think that's been consensus for quite a while now.

Gross.

Not on the general offensive play of Ribeiro, which isn't bad, but on the attitude. I'd hate to see Kadri turn into a whiny, diving punk.

Stupid? No.

Old school? Definitely.

Kadri, being the young rookie, is going to have to go above and beyond impressive to get the time.

5 on 5, it makes more sense that he's playing on the 1st line.

But on a 5 on 3 powerplay, get Kadri out there damn it.

- Two_For_Truth

THIS

was literally yelling at my tv during that 5-3. Than Kadri gets out there for a bit of time on the 5-4 and pretty much scores a goal that they disallowed. Like come on coaches. PAY ATTENTION

I actually like the look of that. Give Kadri the big minutes. Sink or swim. And try to kick start Kulemin's game back to 2009 levels.
- Leeman4Gilmour

Kulemin played well in the sabers zone tonight; worked hard, hopefully has a bounce back year.

He seems too slow for the NHL game; fine with him as a call-up with injuries though as a 6/7 guy.

Observations:

Gunnarson, wtf, poop game. I hate you.
5 on 3's.....ummm, where the (frank) was Kadri? That's his (frank)ing bread and butter.
Kostka, way too many minutes, but no he's not Jeff Finger. I see more a poor man's Rafalski/Nathan Dempsey type story.
JVR with Kadri......somethings not right there, but give it sometime i guess

Top two lines were relied on too heavily in the 2nd period. 3rd line probably should've hit the ice more in that period, I mean when I see Kessels line, followed by Grabo's line, a goal, then Kessel's line and the Grabo's line on again, I'm wondering where's my man crush? WHERES KADRI!

Seriously though, oh, what was my last complaint...oh wait, wasn't a complaint....4th line was solid. Loved the jump they had, even though they generated no offense...ps. Aucoin with a point today for the Islanders.

I've always been on the fence for sure, and I'm of the belief that losing schenn for him will bite us.

That being said, I don't think any kind of book can be written on him until he gets some consistent top 6 minutes. Kessel wouldn't have ever become a star on years of 12 minutes a night either.

Pretty soft and disinterested on the back check though.
