For a guy that played two NHL games and gets thrown on top pairing he looks pretty good have to see what happens as we go. - Yeti1181

He's a 5-6 guy marginally. We have him as our 2...ugggg - AdamFrench
He played 27 minutes tonight.
Komarov had more ice time than JVR to. JVR needs top 6 minutes.. But I'm really digging the JVR kadri combo. |

Guys, its James Vanderbeek, His Agent got him a First Line center Role in a Hockey Movie filming in Toronto. But now he cant really play so hes on the 3rd line and the movie is going slow. They need some Leaf goals and saves, its gonna take awile - Jimmy_wiener

Not entirely sure why he had to be called up at all. Couldn't even do his job and (frank) up Kaleta.
I'm a fan of going with one pairing and giving them huge minutes, but I don't get the point of bumping a guy like Komisarek, who finally looked half-decent, to give some plug 8 minutes. - Leeman4Gilmour

If we could melt the two of them down and forge an actual #1 center...
Bozak's pretty strong on the puck for an average-sized guy; that's what 3 or 4 years of filling out will do. Faceoffs have always been a strength of his, hopefully he's showing Kadri some tricks during practice. - gravyface
I agree. They are very similar though, Kadri will grow into that type of guy no problem, and bring along those puck skills with him.
I like Kadri more and more. |

Bozak is the limbo of the Leafs. Just a stop gap until we get something better which shouldn't be hard.
When Bozak doesn't have the puck, he looks absolutely lost out there and has no clue what to do. You can't teach instincts.
Kadri has the instincts to sniff out a rebound and puck skills.
I've never been a fan of Bozak. I could stomach him on our third line but as a first line center, he just drives me insane with his lackadaisical play. - Sheppy99
Bozak could become your quintessential third line center: decent defense, good in the circle, can step into your top 6 for a stretch.
Yanic Perreault during his stint here, basically. |

5 on 5, it makes more sense that he's playing on the 1st line.
But on a 5 on 3 powerplay, get Kadri out there damn it. |

Kadris playing like the number 2 guy, I'm sure he is going to be reimbursed with playing time for his efforts. - Leafland
Kadri is a guy who rides high and low on confidence. If he doesn't get playing time now, you might as well just kill his career as a Leaf. |

I actually like the look of that. Give Kadri the big minutes. Sink or swim. And try to kick start Kulemin's game back to 2009 levels. |

Yeah, I can agree with that.
I think you have to try and get Kadri out with the shooters, Kessel, Phaneuf. |

Yanic Perreault during his stint here, basically. - Leeman4Gilmour
I absolutely do see his usefulness on a third line. His faceoff ability alone is damn good and he would chip in here and there with some offense.
But when you see him play 20 plus minutes a game on the first line you can't help but think how much he's holding back Kessel and Lupul.
Than you see the vision of a guy like Kadri and it just makes Bozak look even worse |
