After one of the best opening days in 10 years Pete, do you think that the cap will continue to go down after next year? Also bare in mind I said 4 mill. per.

Probably go up I think.

I say he's worth 3, so let's meet in the middle at 3.1, ok?

they should have just found Shawn Belle and asked him to stand in for PK in the photo IMO.

On New Year's Eve, I told my Barbadian neighbour that all black people look alike. He laughed.

To your great disappointment, Dan, he did not attempt to shoot me immediately thereafter.

So the logic here is, because the other defensemen on the habs suck, Subban should get 6 million a year?
- Pecafan Fan

actually it's the exact opposite. even if the other Habs defencemen were good, PK would still be playing more than 25 minutes a game against the opposition's top line because hed likely still be our best or second best dman.

the habs looked to me like the same old, same old. first they parade out the old guard, reminding us all of the pride and glory days of this franchise. then the players come out with a lacklustre performance. it was last season all over again. no cohesion, soft on the puck, uninspired. on the other hand, toronto looked faster than us, was more aggressive, outhit us and were far more threatening on offense. if not for price, the score would have been ugly.

yes, it was only the 1st game and yes, there was likely rust on alot of the habs players. but that game served as a reminder of the awful taste they left on all of us last year. it was dull, boring hockey.

Serious question... how much would you give him ?

I wouldn't say he's #1.. but yes#2...and yes behind Markov(I still think he's hte best out there.. even if he's getting older)

id have no hesitation to give him 6-7 years/5 million. but if hes asking for more than 5M on a long term deal...

well we can always look at the other D in the league who make over 3 mil and are in most cases just not better than Subban, like hasbeyeontheprize did recently

Sheldon Souray, Francois Beauchemin, Bryan Allen, Johnny Boychuck, Dennis Seidenberg, Tyler Myers, Robyn Regehr, Christian Ehrhoff, Jay Bouwmeester, Dennis Wideman, Mark Giordano, Joni Pitkanen, Tim Gleason, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Johnny Oduya, Erik Johnson, Jan Hejda, James Wisniewski, Fedor Tyutin, Jack Johnson, Alex Goligoski, Stephane Robidas, Trevor Daley, Niklas Kronwall, Kyle Quincey, Jonathan Ericsson, Ryan Whitney, Nick Schultz, Brian Campbell, Ed Jovanovski, Filip Kuba, Willie Mitchell, Rob Scuderi, Ryan Suter, Tom Gilbert, Tomas Kaberle, Josh Gorges, Anton Volchenkov, Marek Zidlicky, Henrik Tallinder, Bryce Salvador, Mark Streit, Marc Staal, Dan Girardi, Sergei Gonchar, Chris Phillips, Braydon Coburn, Andrej Meszaros, Luke Schenn, Nicklas Grossmann, Keith Yandle, Zbynek Michalek, Paul Martin, Brooks Orpik, Brad Stuart, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Barret Jackman, Matt Carle, Eric Brewer, Sami Salo, Mattias Ohlund, Mike Komisarek, John-Michael Liles, Jason Garrison, Keith Ballard, Alexander Edler, Mike Green, John Carlson, Roman Hamrlik, Dustin Byfuglien, Ron Hainsey, and Tobias Enstrom.

but because he's younger and despite being better than many of them, surely we can't give him more money....it all adds up in some ppl's heads though

even out of the non highlighted players there's only about a handfull that are better than Subban ALLROUND, the other ones can't be compared because they either specialize in Offense or Defence only, but we arent willing to give a guy who's proven he can do both pretty damn well and has the advantage of being younger?

ok feel free to attack, but at the end of the day i'm a big Habs fan and i'll always voice my opinion on these things whether anyone cares, agrees, disagrees, thinks im an idiot blah blah blah

just saying
