Well people have to be realistic. I'm not asking him to post a .935 save %, just looking for him like I said to allow fewer soft goals, and play a more balanced season. Last year he was great at times, and brutal at times. He just needs to even that out.

I've actually noticed one thing, the center for the Flyers, in most cases, is staying higher up in the slot on the initial dump/retrieval phase of entry to the zone. A mild adjustment, but important adjustment from last year when you had all 3 guys barreling into the zone only to allow the other team through the neutral zone with ease if they made a good breakout or the goaltender could handle the puck.

Just a far more generic and simple 2-1-2 or at times a 1-2-2 forecheck. We'll see over time if it changes.

Not really. I want the guy to play well. If he doesn't the Flyers are going to be back to square 1 at the goaltender position.

To me it's a double edge. I don't think they generated nearly enough pressure on the forecheck or in the offensive zone. But is that because of the change in the forecheck scheme, or because they just aren't in sync yet. I tend to think it's the latter. And they only gave up one 5 on 5 goal in 2 games. So I like that aspect of it. I'd prefer they mix and match, and be able to play both styles. Attack hard when it's there, and read and react and play less aggressive when it's not there.

I hate Philly as much as I hate Al Qaeda, but i will say that losing 2 games is just that losing 2 games no more no less. In the span of the entire 48 game season those games arnt going to mean much. The flyers are going to be in the playoffs and im sure that the pens will end up playing you jerks at some point. I love the fact that we beat you on your opening night,and i know your going to come back with "yeah well we beat you in the playoffs last year". The fun thing is when we beat you in the playoffs we went on to win the Stanley Cup. With that (dinosaur turnover machine slow as frozen mud) Grossman,and (frail elf looking 5 years past his expiration date) Timonen anchoring your blue line you are in worlds of trouble this year. Its not your creepy goalie that is going to lose games for you this year.

Yup. Really like what I have seen from Laughton thus far. Kid looks like a keeper. Not crazy about him burning a year of his ELC, but if he plays the way he is right now he's certainly one of the 12 best forwards on the roster. When Briere returns it will be interesting to see what happens.

Anyone here think a waiver claim on Anthony Stewart would be a solid idea?

Good point. Not sure what will happen. That is a steep price to pay, but to get a franchise defenseman the caliber of Shea Weber I think I would do it.

I wish Nashville didn't match the offer sheet. Had they signed Suter, they likely wouldn't have been able to.
