I give Stafford a lot of credit. Hartnell is not a push over. It was a serious mismatch for Stafford, that's for sure. But he held his own and earned a little bit more respect from me.

Agreed. I think Stafford took a few shots to the back of his head/ear area. Stafford did a good job in raising his shoulder to block punches too. I think I saw Staff land one or two on or close to his head before the wrestling started.

Those Premier jerseys for $140 aren't anything special are they?? screen printed name on back and numbers on sleeves but embroidered numbers and logo on front and back??

Myers, Ott, and Kaleta all had 2 turnovers.. nobody else had more than 1 that is listed in stats.

Most of the jerseys I have were in the $140 price range and they look just like the ones the players wear. They're missing the tie strap, but everything is embroidered.

I don't know if they're one of the "premier" jerseys. I got a few of them from Laux Sporting goods here in Buffalo, one from Dave and Adam's Card World, and one from the Sabres store.

I think the NHL statisticians are more inclined and intelligent then you are to determine these things... They have their job for a reason.

the stats cover plays that he caused a clear turn over. there were several times he had a terrible pass that went no where or missed the target. not considered a turn over but it really was.. i know 15 was an overstatement but he had several bad plays that resulted in the sabres losing possesion of the puck.

Penalties caused most of that stuff to happen. Ruff can't not play Myers because Regehr is in the box. And after the PP or PK, the lines always get shuffled a bit because those units are a mix of guys from all different lines usually.

I agree.

The passing in general was not good. For either team. I'm sure it's partly because of rust, but for the Sabres at least, it always seems to be a problem. Sometimes it looks like they're just throwing it at each other instead of trying to actually pass it.

Myers wasn't very impressive yesterday... Hopefully that changes.. if not the should consider trading him and playing Brennan everyday... Just a thought

Turnovers are subjective too. When a puck is turned over it's either a giveaway or takeaway. It can't be both and its up to the statistician. It might not be called either way.

After that, he was a mess. He redeemed himself a bit by scoring that goal, but he needs to clean up his game and just think about things. It's like he was on autopilot or something yesterday.

Mike Kostka made the Maple Leafs....

Anyone remember him?? He was a Sabres prospect with Portland. I think he was solid and possibly blew his knee out. He is 27 now and made the Leafs. Good story for a former Sabres draft pick.

i know that and this was my point.. there were several plays that buffalo lost the puck because of something he did.. but it wasn't registered as a turnover.
