Oh come on now Frenchie, don't be like that. I like the guy, said before I hoped he would get his chance. I think he's got a bit of Nathan Dempsey to his game.
- mykokes

I said he deserved a shot in December as well.

Nobody's saying he's a bonafide top pairing dman, or even a top-4.

But he's the only d-man the Leafs have in full game shape, so his play is getting him top minutes.

Coach's job is to win, so he's gonna get time over guys who aren't contributing as much.

yeah, someone is going back... unless they decide to toss Franson on the market.

i'll be very curious.. franson isnt the most responsiblie defender.. not someone i see fitting into carlyle's approach.

if i am right nonis should move him post haste.. before his time with the leafs diminishes his value

- Dozzer

Maybe that Detroit rumour has legs, they have to get a second rounder to make it worthwhile for the Leafs, imo.

Yup. Hopefully she can get him skating well. Till then, Kostka is going to take his role.

He probably would have been able to work with her if he hadn't held out.

I liked him in Tampa during last years ahl final. I wish the Leafs had traded Aulie for Tyler Johnson or Cory Conacher instead of Carter Ashton.

I'm still trying to figure out the Carter Ashton thing.

But I sincerely doubt we ever see him in a Leafs uniform again.

Meanwhile, Canucks GM Mike Gillis is facing pressure from Vancouver fans and pundits to move Luongo to improve the club’s depth, especially with second-line center Ryan Kesler and left winger David Booth sidelined by injuries.

Gillis’s critics are second-guessing him for not moving Luongo prior to the lockout, accusing him of setting too high a price for the netminder.

He responded by blaming “a team that was extremely interested in acquiring Roberto” using “every means possible” – including the Toronto media – to force him into making a deal he didn’t feel was right.

It’s not difficult to guess what team Gillis was referring to, though it’s unknown if he was talking about its current GM or its former one.

I still see Ashton turning into a very good 3rd line player one day. He's got all the tools for that role, just needs to be molded. Another year with Eakins and he'll be ready.

A third really doesn't do much in terms of return but if that is what they get, then be it.

Anyone else wish that Paul Ranger would figure his crap out and decide he wants to play in the NHL again? And hopefully decide he wants to play for the Leafs? Then we could definitely look at moving Franson, Komi etc.

Clearly something cooked up between Burke and Steve Simmonds. Pretty sure GIllis will be going after Ek next.

You think the Leafs will be in on Austin Czarnik, Kalle Kossila, Tyler Sikura or Jay Williams ?
