They won.

Penalty kill was very good.

Powerplay did its job.

We got the two pts. on the road in Montreal.

Thats all that matters.

The Carlyle system makes teams look bad.

Like I said, its ugly looking hockey but its effective

The Subban less Habs were the perfect team to start the season against just for the sake of getting two points.

Tonight the real test starts -- they better be ready to skate. Leafs will need great goaltending to win tonight.

3 - 2 win tonight for the Leafs. Kessels line is big. He gets 2 and Lupul gets the winner, in the 3rd...

I agree. Its going to be interesting to see if the Leafs team can play as sound defensively as they did Saturday against a team thats bigger, faster and more skilled than the Habs.

Hopefully they dont start Miller and come out slow after playing last night.

I was very impressed with the team defensive play. All forwards (yes, Kessel included) were backchecking, and I was really impressed with most notably Franson, Kostka, and *gasp* Komisarek on defense. Scrivens was everything the Leafs needed to win; Steady, and made the saves he should have had.

I could definitely see the Carlyle influence in the defensive play of the team, and I hope they're able to continue that throughout the season. As someone said earlier, it wasn't pretty, but they'll win games this way.

Pittsburgh's already played two games , and could run out of gas halfway through the game. The Leafs just need to make sure it's not a 5-0 game by then...especially if Reimer gets the start.
