If they can get a first for Mac, or even a 2nd, I think they should. A prospect, or guy like JVR could very well fill his role on that line.
- Feeling Glucky?

I agree, I don't think they would be able to trade him for a 1st this year though. A lot of GM's know that the next draft has a lot of depth/talent in it.
I'd like to see him traded for a prospect or pick though.

meh.

Asset management. If he wants a raise, and we've got other people to pay, he's out the door. May as well get something for him. A guy like Domi, for example.

- Feeling Glucky?

That would be lovely. I just don;t see getting a high first for Mac

i undrstand that in a non cap system, but thats an expensive price tag to give a guy to give pump up stories in the dressing room before games.

With that contract the leafs just gave him you better believe they expect him to put up big points.

- Cherry--Skoal

This.

Especially, and really the biggest issue, is his health.

This is like Luongo all over again. Nobody is disputing the talent. I dont like Lupuls term and health. I dont like Luongos age and term.

Id take both on my team every day of the week if these issues werent future anchors waiting to drop.

He's very comparable to other around 5.25.

Your talking like he doesn't score.

This is the veteran presence they want around the younger players, I don't mind it, sometimes a player like Lupul adds more to a team than just points.

Burn he was a point per game once in his career. has a massive list of injuries... come on now.

It's obvious this contract extension is at least up for debate and controversial to say the least.

The writing is on the wall now. Nonis believes his core players are Lupul, Kessel and Phaneuf. Expect Kessel to get at least 7 million a year to stay and Phaneuf to get 6 million a year to keep them all together. These are the guys he thinks he can build a team around.

Where did I say he is not there to score? I said he has intangibles that the team must feels he adds in addition to his scoring.

We are in year 4 of a 10 year rebuild. If we're 7th place with 25 games left we will be 13th with 5 games left.

Last night really wasnt an accomplishment, because of how bad Montreal was. Sorry.

Montreal was so bad, it was hard to tell who was playing well on Toronto. And for a homer as big as me, thats not usually hard to do.

What you think we could get for him? Something like the Versteeg deal - late 1st at the trade deadline?

The money isn't bad but the term seems long for someone his age and with his injury issues.
