kessler is first line center on half the teams in the league. staal is better than lupul
- allen_gamble

Kesler sucks ass. He got 30 of his 40 goals that season by the Twins and Ehrhoff banking pucks off his shinpads and now he thinks he's some superstar sniper. Dude needs a reality check and to quit female doging about his linemates. Last time his line had career years was when he passed the puck instead of being junior son of a female dog hogging it all the time.

Holy poop batman. No, literally, holy poop.

It's true. It's ridiculous. He played pretty well, they won, he got ten minutes, and you're in here ranting like a fool that he didn't get 13 minutes. Can't you see how stupid that is?

I think Nonis would happily trade for Luongo if he could get him for Bozak and Franson...
- Big_Lightnin

I agree, but Lou is out, after watching Schnider last night theres no way hes goin anywhere. Schnider Played like Justin Pogge

Dreger reported earlier on TSN radio that Bozak is next to be resigned.
- systemtool

Did he say it as quoting Nonis? or just saying it as a logical assumption, cause wouldn't be the first time for that.

Im more comfortable dealing with that than missing the playoffs, keeping Lupul and finishing in 10th.
- systemtool

If leafs are in a bad spot come playoff time, they can still trade lupol. What would the return on him really look like? a first and two prospects?

with missing 16 games he was still 30th overall for points. Hes a complete player. If his numbers are consistant this year, it wouldnt be a hard peice to move for assets. Odds are that the 14 team list he would submit would be the teams most likely in the position to trade for him. Is lupol for half a year at 4.25 (rental) worth more than lupol at 5.25 for 5 years? maybe depends on the team.

They are not going to trade a guy they just signed, and gave an A to. Come on man, dont be such a Prock.

I agree.

Which is why you dont commit to Lupul for 5 years right off the bat.

- systemtool

Not to mention that on a contending team he is a 2nd line winger at best. That's too much.

Kessler better than half the #1 centers. I doubt it.
- burn

You're right. He's better than maybe 5-10 of the guys who are first liners in the league.

Buffalo, Calgary, Phoenix, Columbus, probably Winnipeg and Toronto, maybe Florida or Nashville would have him as a first-liner.

Not to be a Richard but that was a career year well above any of his other totals. To jump to conclusions and assume that will be his annual output is pretty ridic and 5+ is a decent chunk of change for a guy who's more or less been a 50pt player in his career.

Then again, Travis Zajac.

Just over ppg= 2nd liner at best?

Come on, if he maintains that production, he's easily a top liner.

His points increase directly correlated with his increase in minutes. Lupul was playing 2nd/3rd line minutes elsewhere, #2 PP time. His minutes went up 30%, gets #1PP time, and points went up accordingly. not like Kulemin who had an unreal shooting % when he got 30.

Lupul's pts per minute played are pretty much consistent each season, including last year.

516 games. 323 points.

But hey, a career year, let's go with that favorable stat line.

He was a point per game player last year. Enough with the negativity. He's a 1st liner. On a contending team, he would have a centre.

$5.25 milly may seem high, but name a guy who is better who you could get for less.

The best divers are the guys that anticipate. That's how you tell a pro from a rookie. Guy is going to make a tackle in the box? Best jump over his leg and flip
