- Dozzer

Not yet, hope they put Schneider back in. All teams/players are gonna have some rust, he'll be fine. One game.

17.2 million cap space left for about 10 players. Komi has to be bought out of this team is going to improve themselves with that budget.

Guys like Kadri, Gunner, Franson, Bozak, Kostka, Mac,Komarov all U/RFA's.

Not going to be easy...

Ya, like I said, he put up 50 points twice in his career.
- LeftCoaster

its moreso his pace that needs to be looked at here.

he also put up 46 points in 56 games in philly

his PPG average is 0.626 which really isnt bad considering the amount of games he has played coming off injury

the question for him isnt so much production, its health.

wha? his line shutdown the habs top scoring line beautifully.
- Dozzer

Disagree. Looked sluggish, running into his own players, get lit up with hits, ect

yeah, if he produces at near the same rate as last year he would of scored a hell of alot more on the open market.

not a bad contract for a team leader.. if he stays healthy it will be a steal, especially in the 4th and 5th years.

- Dozzer

His health will be key. Other than that I really think he's found a niche here, and will justify his paycheque as long as he's healthy

His PPG average of 0.626 works out to 51 points over an 82 game schedule. He's a great guy, I wish him well. Just a lot of money for one good season.

i didnt think so at all.. i thought he was trying his hardest to discover how to play the defensive role carlyle has put onto that line (carlyle uses his second line as a shut down line)

give it some time, he'll be fine.

Its an older team with little depth up front. Especially with the injuries. This could be a bad year for teams like the Canucks if they start off too slow. One of those teams that doesnt get the good pick, but doesnt make the playoffs either.

Reading there's a limited NTC on Lupuls contract.

like i said.. you have to adjust the straight up thinking here.. with all the injuries he has had you need to consider him playing out of game shape etc.

every time he has been fully healthy he has been productive.

can he stay healthy tho, thats the big question.

Agree, just looking at the cap list now.

There are a few guys there who rightfully deserve some sort of raise, as Gunnarsson, Franson, and Bozak are all making south of 2m and while we all chirp Bozak for not being a legit no. 1 centre, if he goes out there and produces like he did last season he can probably justify asking for a deal like Mac's on right now, in the 3-3.5 range.

Now on to the story of Mac. It's hard to say how management feels about him. He makes 3.25 per, and as long as he's a 20+ goal guy, he probably deserves it. However, it'll be interesting to see what he demands this summer. Remember, the leafs resurrected his career just as they did with Loops. Hopefully Mac's loyal to the team and doesn't become greedy.

As for Franson and Gunnarsson, the savings from losing Komi's 4.5 will cover the raises these two defenders deserve(in my opinion). I both see them as 2.5m per guys

I agree, I think the Oilers young guns win this one easily after what I saw last night.

As for Schneider, he's been terrific over the past couple years. One game. Lupul didn't have a point last night, he destined to have a terrible season. (jk)

I don't get it...nobody wants to sign in Toronto, why would Lupul do this? It makes no sense.

Hey, where'd the trolls go?

A long term deal after his one and only season above 60 points in a career year.

They think these guys have what it takes to build around.

They're going to be wrong.
