Jagr wanted too much money. He's 40+ years old. Young players need to step up. When you have a Cap crunch, and lack a true #1 defenseman, it's hard to commit 5.5M to a Matt Carle. If you do, that severely limits what they can do to get a #1. If you have a true #1, and the Cap space, then you re-sign him. They will no doubt miss Carle. But there is a big picture here. And that's the long term future of this team. I don't see the JVR trade as desperation.

The Flyers PP under Laviolette was 6th in the League last year, and 5th in the League in 10/11.

what did you see that gave you hope for ls? seriously maybe i missed something, imo he has no shot, hes a slow clumsy skater, and the only time i noticed him was when he was coughing up the puck, and i do want to like him, i always liked the big strong power house guys, i just have not seen that from him, hes 24 and have been resting, he should be a lighning bolt

He's a defensive defenseman. He doesn't need to have a big shot. Nor is he a slow clumsy skater. Nor did he make many poor turnovers. He makes a nice outlet pass. He made a few mistakes today, one he got his stick up on a player, which is a call that is made leading to bad penalty. And he had a positioning error that led to another penalty. All of that is correctable. He played 2 decent games.

I already have a couple others. That one's not exactly about the movie, though

Just tighten up the PK, and get a better 2nd PP unit. This one isn't working at all....

The PK has been awful. There is nowhere to go but up for that.

I want mad max to put 27 back on.

Until the execution improves, it's not really possible to blame the system. If you're turning the puck over at your own blueline with a bad pass, the system is immaterial at that point.

There's a handful of movies me and a group of buddies simply love to watch, most of them Coen brothers flicks.

The passing has been horrible, especially at the start of games. Guys have been fighting the puck as well. Once those things get cleaned up a lot of the other stuff should, too

There's so many players right now, that aren't playing at their full potential. Timonen and Coburn are going to get much better. Young players such as B Schenn and Voracek aren't clicking. They're just not in sync right now. Giroux can even be better. Right now, Wayne Simmonds is their best player. No knock on Simmonds but that shouldn't be. So it's been two games and already the negativity is flowing. It took all of two games for the Coach and the system to be questioned. Hell drive me nuts. Bring back the lockout!

What you're failing to do is consider the source. On the flip side I did see a habitual Bryz basher give him props, so there ya have it.

The only goal Bryz could have saved was Vaneks breakaway. He bit and got beat. Is it a bad goal or a weak goal? Absolutely not. A world class move at that speed by a 40 goal scorer is going to difficult to save regardless of the goalie. Sometimes, you have to give Cred to the opponent for beating you
