Dont you guys dare talk negatively about a player.. how dare you share your opinions on a pkayer on a hockey webpage designed for the sharing of opinions and random possibly* made up rumors..

*I in no way am accusing anyone of making up rumors

- Flyersgod

Talk negatively about players all you want. Sean Couturier has been absolute crap in the first two games. In fact, he was on the ice for the first 6 goals against of the season.

Jakub Voracek has looked lost at times and has really stood out as a guy that seems to be suffering the effects of the home cooking he had during the lockout.

Niklas Grossmann has been handling the puck like a hand grenade without a pin and looks like he lost a step from last season.

Kimmo Timonen & Bryadon Coburn both look like guys that haven't played hockey in six months.

Feel free to share opinions, just be prepared to have others disagree with them.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions of a player, team, etc.............If you can not talk about it respectfully and in a calm manner I suggest you walk away before a moderator has to step in to calm the situation.

Thank you.

it seemed to me they tried to use lavvys signature system for the first 2 periods against penguins and caused odd man rushes the other several times.

look, everyne is on the same playing level right now, the pens and sabres d did not look sluggish to me as our d, besides schenn, foster our d is the same as last year minus carle who imo was our best dman is gone and its obvious, like i said before it is earl but the same issues that hurt us last year are already rearing there uglky head

In my opinion it has zero to do with the system. Anytime the team has a few bad games or a bad stretch, statements are made about the system. The Flyers have come out slow in both games, and lacked intensity, and haven't had their legs right away. Why that is, I don't know. But it has zero to do with the system.

They have given up 5 PP goals in the first two games. And have scored 3 goals in 2 games. And haven't had any consistent offensive pressure on the opposition. That is why they're 0-2.

to be honest i was not expecting much from this team, i have notice the same what your saying, plus more more to me all the same mistakes that hurt them last year are still the same issues, turning the puck over, weak pp, horrible pk, cant get the puck out of there own end for minutes at a time, it frustrates me that these issues have been there since lavy took over and are still there.

He did make a big save. He stopped Vanek cold on a breakaway. How about Voracek helping him out, and the defense helping him out? It's a team game.
- MJL

yes it is a team game i agree but bryz is our last line of defence the 4th goal was a killer that is the save he needed to make ... yes the team was horrible in front of him yes there was a complete break down on the PK but that was the game changing save we needed from him i am not taking anything away from the big saves he made today and he did make alot ... what i am saying was that it seems to me he didnt make that game saving save that they needed... he didnt stop that 4th goal ... i am not saying the flyers would have went down and scored if he saved that or they wouls have rallied to win the game.. what i am saying is that by not being that wall when is was a necessity.. when the game was one the line ... by not being that last line of defense that we desperately needed at that point in the game... the team had the wind knocked out of them ....1 goal is hard enough to over come but 2 at that point was a tall hill to climb for any team...

the flyers need to take a gut check for their next game ... you may all think that it is early in the season to say that ... but we dont have that many games to figure this out

Until the execution improves, it's not really possible to blame the system. If you're turning the puck over at your own blueline with a bad pass, the system is immaterial at that point.

The Flyers PP under Laviolette was 6th in the League last year, and 5th in the League in 10/11.

And we saw that multiple times over the weekend. Passes in skates or behind players, leading to turnovers. We saw two bad line changes today. One leading to a PP goal and another leading to too many men on the ice penalty. And they're not clicking offensively. Good chances aren't being buries. Slow starts to both games. It's not a coincidence the breaks aren't going their way.

i agree, but maybe its not the system but they seem to be trying those long strtch passes on the left side every time and it gets either intercepted or becomes icing, i guess that could be from slow legs, but every team right now is in the same boat, we were supposed to have an advantage cuz alot of our guys have been playing

i will say this, luke, grossman, kimmo, mezzy, foster, will not be getting any faster

Right now, the biggest problem is poor execution. Non systemic stuff, too-bad outlet passes, guys fumbling the puck away, making low percentage plays & forcing passes across the ice. I see a lot of penalties coming off the transition game, because of the poor passing and decision making. There's also been a lot of good old stupid penalties and dumb play in general.

I expected(still do expect) a playoff team. I expect a 5th or 6th place finish, and a lot of the issues they see know to get resolved before too much longer. They key is not to get too discouraged and keep working.

The only goal Bryz could have saved was Vaneks breakaway. He bit and got beat. Is it a bad goal or a weak goal? Absolutely not. A world class move at that speed by a 40 goal scorer is going to difficult to save regardless of the goalie. Sometimes, you have to give Cred to the opponent for beating you
